Chapter 41 - CHAPTER FORTY

Vince could only scratch his head when he received a text from Felix. The Blanco family is a close relative of theirs. He was already aware that the event would occur; they could no longer avoid the inevitable.

He just sighed.

"What's your problem there, Vince?" His eldest sister asked.

"We have a visitor." He said.

"Why are you frowning there?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

He exhaled deeply. "Tata will stay here for now; it's sembreak, so Thalia will stay here for now." He explained the situation to his elder sister.

He noticed that she looked surprised. "Why did you wait until now to tell me that we had a guest? I need to prepare a room." Her sister said, panicking.

"Sis, can you calm down for a moment?" Vince asked.

"How can I calm down? Please explain why you only informed me about the visitor's impending arrival," she asked, frowning as she looked at him.

"Felix just told me now."

"I need to clean up. Go to the neighboring town first, and then wait for the bus that Tata took; it might get lost." She ordered him.

Felix, I'm really going to kick you when I see you. He said this while walking out, having already taken the key to his multicab from their garage. He will first head to the market; after all, the bus terminal is nearby, where he will buy the items his sister instructed.

He needs to call Felix so he can ask him why Thalia came here alone.

He immediately called his number, but it just kept ringing.

Maybe he's doing something again. He thought to himself, so he just kept driving towards his destination.

The town where he was going to shop wasn't far.

First, he bought something to eat and immediately called Felix's phone.

"Hello?" He answered on the other line.

"Felix." He said firmly. "What is Tata doing here?" He asked Felix directly.

"Oh? I haven't told you yet. Sorry for the inconvenience, Vince." He said.

He was annoyed with the person he was talking to back then. "Is this about your premonition?" He directly asked the person on the other end.

The person on the other line just sighed. "Yeah, that's why I'm being careful now. You take care of Thalia and whatever she does there." This is what he said.

"You understand that I'm constantly present at the warehouse, making it impossible for me to monitor your sister's movements." He ended up saying.

"I know that, Vince, but I know she's safe in your care." He said to him.

He just sighed, not wanting to argue with the person he was talking to.

"I will help her to the best of my ability, but I will not guarantee her safety in the warehouse." He warned Felix, his voice turning serious.

"I understand, Vince. This is probably my karma." His comment made Felix laugh on the other end of the line.

Vince knew that Felix was blaming himself again. "Don't blame yourself anymore. I also have my faults. I couldn't help save Fernan and his siblings." He gripped the steering wheel of his car back then.

"I'll just call Tata. You know that we all have abilities." The phrase made him laugh bitterly.

"Yeah," he wouldn't mention that he also has abilities.

"Even if you don't say anything, I can see that you have talent too, Vince." He said.

"You know so much. Come on, we need to use this ability for our survival and for our karma." He said. "Cheers to that!"

Felix only laughed. "Okay, I need to go. Please make sure to attend to your responsibilities, Vince."

"Yeah."

He immediately hung up the phone and just sighed. He was already waiting for the bus, but now he would have to wait a long time for the visitor to arrive.

After a while, a bus arrived, and he watched the passengers get off. He noticed a woman.

Thalia, even now, you still haven't changed. He laughed at what he used to think.

He got out of the car to greet his cousin, and she immediately noticed him.

"Uncle Vince!" Thalia even waved at him.

Vince immediately went to his cousin; she was only wearing a backpack, a white shirt, and pants.

"I was surprised to receive a call from your brother, who informed me that you would be vacationing here during the semestral break."

"Please excuse the trouble, brother; I just probably missed the province."

They walked towards the multicab; Thalia was right next to him, and she placed her backpack in the backseat of the vehicle.

"How's Sister Kimberly, bro?" she asked him.

"Well, still noisy." He just laughed then. "How are Jenny and Greg?" He asked his companion back.

"They're fine there, and besides, it's their sister's exam now. Tomorrow, it's their semestral break." Thalia explained it to him.

"Good! Is your sister going to vacation here?" Vince asked.

It was just a simple catch-up during their trip, and he saw that Thalia enjoyed talking to him. He saw Thalia looking at a dense forest and a warehouse, and he noticed that her smile faded. Vince already knows that Thalia is endangering her life because he was there at that time.

He also heard about the death of the schoolmate who was with them that night. Zenne prevented him from assisting his cousin for the time being.

He just sighed at that moment. He probably needed to atone for his actions; he refused to allow anyone to suffer harm once more, especially not in his presence.

"We are here!" he said cheerfully.

"It hasn't changed, brother." He said, laughing it off.

"The air here is really fresh." Thalia couldn't help but say.

"Oh, you're already here." His sister said happily.

"Sister!" She greeted her companion Thalia cheerfully.

"Oh! She's grown up!" His sibling just laughed.

He even saw them go inside their house, and he, on the other hand, parked the multicab back in the garage.

He hesitated before following them. The future is once again looming ahead. He needs to find a way.

He needs to help Felix because he knows that the mysteries happening to them will also be solved.
