Rose looked back down at the shabby box again, looking over the maps as if June wasn't there.
So she left.
June got up, out of her seat and walked to the door pulling it open as it scraped against the frame. The sun didn't dare enter the building. Landing just outside the edge of the door frame as if there was some force keeping it out.
Opening her mouth to say something, but stopped. Would she listen or even care?
Still, she spoke:
"I'll… see you at the meeting late…"
As if expecting at least some sort of a response she waited a moment.
Surprisingly, she got on.
Rose smiled slightly,
"Alright."
Though she didn't take her eyes of the maps.
It was still something.
June felt slightly relieved that she had actually responded to her, even if it was only for her own obsession.
Then she walked out of the small and cramped hut that imposed itself on the other building, leaving the door open slightly to let an image of the outside world slip in.
She walked towards an empty, open field of grass that a bunch of kids were playing on and disappeared from the tiny sliver in the doorway.
Rose, to her own surprise, watched her disappear out of sight and considered opening the door just a bit more. Then she thought better of it and returned to her maps.
She was slowly running out of time to prepare.

Each of the maps displayed different cities. Different major cities, the smaller ones didn't get a map. The map in front of her now was that of the capital, she had studied it for ages before, but for some reason she always had to spend time looking it over.
So she did, and time passed. By the time she felt she should move onto another there was barely five minutes before the meeting would start.
The meeting didn't need that map.
