"Roar... Roar... Roar..."
The huge, dark Menos Grande roared like a monster tearing through space, looking to break into the human world with its sharp claws and fangs.
But this isn't just a story from a picture book. What we're seeing is a real monster ripping apart the space between worlds.
It's likely about to enter the human world soon.
"..."
"No way... How many Gillians are there?"
In the distance, from an overpass, Rukia Kuchiki stared in shock at the Gillians in the sky, already half of their bodies sticking out.
A Gillian is a type of Menos Grande that has survived after devouring more than a hundred regular hollows.
Because it's absorbed the power of a hundred hollows, a Gillian is far stronger than any regular hollow.
A single Gillian can destroy more than a thousand hollows, showing just how dangerous they are.
Even more terrifying, after transforming, a Gillian can use Cero, an ability that normal hollows don't have.
Cero has enormous destructive power.
Rukia Kuchiki, now wide-eyed with concern, looked at Urahara Kisuke and Tessai Tsukabishi, speaking urgently, "Mr. Urahara, Tessai, why aren't you doing something? That's not a hollow they can handle."
If there was just one Gillian, they could probably deal with it, but there were more than a hundred of them.
Because the black crack in space was so large, it seemed as though the hundreds of Gillians behind it could easily cross into the human world and cause chaos.
"Miss Kuchiki, you must trust in the abilities of Mr. Nanaya and Mr. Kurosaki," Urahara Kisuke said with his usual calm smile.
Rukia felt uneasy. She wanted to rush in and help, but after checking her own condition, she gritted her teeth in frustration.
"Damn it, why hasn't my injury healed yet?"
In her current state, she couldn't even handle a lower-level Menos Grande, let alone a Gillian. Even fighting against a small group of regular hollows would be difficult for her.
Urahara Kisuke remained calm, but soon his eyes widened with shock. Even his usual sharp mind seemed taken aback as he stared at the crack in space.
"No… That's not a regular Gillian," Urahara muttered, "It's an Adjuchas… No, it's something else... It's somewhere in between..."
"Why does its spiritual power feel so strange? It's clearly a hollow, but it has the spiritual pressure of a Shinigami..."
"The mask is broken, and there's a soul-slaying sword on its waist. But that body… it's definitely a Menos Grande..."
"..."
In the crack, behind the many hideous Gillians, a larger one stepped forward. But this one was different from the others.
Its mask was broken, revealing a human-like face. It also had a giant soul-slaying sword hanging at its waist.
Its spiritual pressure was far more powerful than that of the other Gillians.
A dark, evil energy radiated from it, pressing down on every Shinigami in the area, making their hearts race in fear.
"Roar!!!"
This Arrancar Gillian roared and pushed its way into the crack, crushing its fellow Gillians as it moved.
"Crack, crack..."
The massive crack in the sky split even wider as it forced its way out, its power tearing through the air.
The first Gillian to step into the human world lowered its head, staring down at the buildings below, its eyes gleaming with greed.
"Roar!!!"
"..."
"Urahara Kisuke, that guy is out of control..."
Hirako Shinji grumbled, feeling frustrated. He wanted to rush over and give Urahara a piece of his mind.
What kind of mess had Urahara gotten them into? Not only had he attracted hundreds of Gillians, but now he'd drawn out something even worse.
"It has both the powers of a Shinigami and a Hollow. Did Hōgyoku have something to do with this?" Muguruma Kensei, a member of the Masked Corps, frowned as he eyed the Gillian still emerging from the crack. He spoke with cold, calculating eyes, "Doesn't that Gillian look a lot like us?"
The other members of the Masked Corps stared at the beast in the crack, their concern growing.
They were once captains and vice-captains of the Seireitei who had merged their powers with those of a Hollow, and because of that, they were hunted down.
And now, this giant Gillian seemed to have merged Shinigami power with its Hollow nature. It even carried a soul-slaying sword, just like a Shinigami.
"Are you talking about Hōgyoku? Or is this the work of that bastard Aizen?" Love Aikawa, another member of the Masked Corps, clenched his fists in anger.
They had spent nearly a century in hiding, and if anyone was responsible for their downfall, it was Aizen Sōsuke.
"What's the point of talking about this now?" Sarugaki Hiyori, carrying her sawtooth sword, scowled. "Shouldn't we be doing something about that Gillian?!"
The Masked Corps members fell silent. It seemed like there was no choice but to act.
"..."
"It's him..."
In Seireitei, within the First Division, Aizen Sōsuke stared at the light on his machine screen, a calm expression on his face as he adjusted his glasses.
"Although it's a failure, I've still managed to break the boundary between Hollow and Shinigami. Its power is barely at the captain level..."
A hundred years ago, after invading Hueco Mundo, Aizen had used the Menos Grande as test subjects to study the Hōgyoku.
And because so many Gillians existed, he captured them for further experiments.
In the end, the experiments were deemed a failure. Even though the Hōgyoku had affected the Gillians, they couldn't retain their reason.
But their destructive power was strong enough to reach the captain level.
"..."
"Kurosaki... No, that kind of monster is far too powerful for us to handle right now..." Ishida Uryu said, his voice filled with clear fear as he watched the black crack in the sky, slowly retreating.
It wasn't just Ishida who was afraid. Even Kurosaki Ichigo, usually so confident, felt a chill run down his spine at the sight of the monstrous Gillian.
"What are those monsters!?"
The fear from the Gillians was so strong that it could break the minds of anyone with weak mental strength.
And to make things worse, there was an Arrancar Gillian among them, even more powerful and terrifying than the others.
"..."
"It's huge," Ishida muttered, still in awe.
Unlike Kurosaki Ichigo and Ishida Uryu, Nanaya wasn't intimidated by the powerful Reiatsu of the Gillian. Instead, he showed an expression of interest.
"This one's about 40 to 50 meters tall. It must have eaten at least 400 ordinary hollows to reach this size!" he thought.
With that, he activated the pupil techniques in both his eyes. A burst of intense black flames appeared, igniting the Gillian's body as they spread, aiming to burn it away.
"Huang!!!"
The black flames burned fiercely, but the Gillian seemed slow to react, taking several seconds to realize it was on fire.
"Roar!!!"
With a furious roar, the Gillian quickly spotted Nanaya and charged toward him in a fit of rage.
"Boom!!!"
As the Gillian moved, it destroyed buildings along its path, crushing them under its massive weight.
"Flame Control!"
Nanaya slightly parted his lips and teeth, and in an instant, the black flames wrapping around the Gillian transformed into sharp cones, piercing deep into its body.
"Sizzle, sizzle…"
"Roar!!"
The Gillian screamed in pain, but despite the injury, its relentless charge didn't slow down. It continued to rush toward Nanaya with savage fury.
"Is there an advantage to being this big?" Nanaya mused, a grin appearing on his face. "If it were just an ordinary Hollow, this level of black flame would be enough to turn it to ash. But with a giant like this... the flames are having less of an effect."
But Nanaya didn't mind. He stood still, calmly watching as the Menos Grande was slowly consumed by the eternal fire.
While the Gillian was being burned to ash, more Gillians were still coming through the crack in the sky.
Without hesitation, Nanaya leaped into the air, shooting up to the highest point. He then pointed his right hand at the sky and spoke in a cold voice:
"Hadō Thirty-three: Blue Fire Falling!"
The blue flames rained down from the sky, crashing into the crack with a powerful bang.
Several Gillians were struck directly by the blue fire.
With a focused look, Nanaya used the black flames of Amaterasu to ignite the crack further, causing the Gillians within it to writhe and scream in agony as they burned.
Within seconds, several Gillians were completely destroyed.
The flow of black spiritual energy surged into Nanaya's body, and the dark energy seemed to have a strange effect on his mind. His eyes grew hotter and more intense.
"Have my eyes changed again after absorbing so much Hollow power?" Nanaya thought, a hand instinctively reaching for his eyes.
He could feel the difference. His eyes weren't limited to just two abilities anymore; they seemed to continue evolving as he absorbed more Hollow power.
Previously, he had awakened the abilities of Tsukuyomi and Hollow. Now, what new power would emerge from this?
As the burning sensation in his eyes grew stronger, a name came to his mind instinctively, and before he even realized it, he blurted out:
"The Third Power... Susanoo!"
