Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: What Era Is This? Still Afraid of the Heavenly Principles?

The Ancient God King descended from above.

Furina's mindset quietly shifted.

The essence of the world is the survival of the fittest—the strong make the rules and govern the world.

Just like the Opera Epiclese below.

If she allowed it, the Opera Epiclese would continue to exist.

Earlier, she had indeed been acting, but as she used the power of the Ancient God King's Throne for the first time, she gradually understood a truth.

And now, having experienced the might of the Ancient God King, Furina possessed the potential to dominate the world!

"Everything is determined by the will of the strong!"

Furina's gaze fell on Focalors' face. "I'll give you two choices."

The current Furina felt utterly unfamiliar to her.

Was it because of power?

Focalors clearly understood—history had proven time and again that when someone gained power sufficient to rule the world, they would never remain the same as before.

Especially for a ruler.

Under the will of a king, even the workings of the world could be decided!

"First, you can still carry out your plan, and Fontaine will survive." A card with faint golden patterns on its back appeared before Focalors.

Focalors saw the immense authority contained within it.

If Furina did not allow it, the king's will would activate. Without even needing to look, the Opera Epiclese would be annihilated under the power of the throne.

Furina had no interest in arguing or persuading Focalors with reason.

Focalors was momentarily stunned.

She exhaled sharply and straightened her back even more.

Lines of golden text arranged themselves in order.

There's actually something like this?

I must really be dreaming, right?

Focalors forced a smile, but in her heart, she knew this was all truly happening.

"And the second option?" Focalors asked proactively.

"That position—serving as the Chief Justice for over five hundred years—has had its merits and hardships. I'm grateful to him."

"No matter what his opinion is, the path of the prophecy must be completely severed!"

"And as for the authority of the ancient dragons he lost, I will allow the world to recreate a portion for him!"

"Allow the world to recreate a portion of the ancient dragon's authority for him?" Focalors was shocked.

Are you speaking the language of Fontaine?

Why is this so hard to understand?

"Under the will of the king, nothing is impossible!"

Furina had deeply experienced the immense power of this Ancient God King's Throne. Why had countless ambitious rulers throughout the ages sought it?

Was it merely because legends said it held the power to rule the world?

Hah—it really did!

Not only did it possess the power to rule the world, but it also had abilities that defied common sense!

It conceptualized the world as a nation!

Then, as the king, what this nation would be like was entirely up to the king to decide.

"I choose the second one." Focalors didn't hesitate.

The contents on that card—the prophecy, the Primordial Sea, and the fate of Fontaine—were all clearly outlined.

Though she didn't know how Furina had obtained such a card, she wouldn't let Furina waste it.

"As expected, so clever—truly the other me!"

A rare smile appeared on Furina's face as she stepped down from the Ancient God King's Throne.

Focalors wore an expression of helplessness.

Just now, she was the king who ruled over all life and death, but now she's back to being the Furina we know?

Perhaps both are true—it's just the difference between sitting on that throne or not.

"When do you plan to begin?" Focalors asked.

Furina turned her head with a look of realization.

"Huh?"

Focalors was puzzled. "I... I don't have enough power yet."

Furina waved her hands repeatedly, scrambling to explain: "But you can rest assured! I can truly do anything!"

Such confident words.

Focalors didn't doubt her, because Furina had already proven she had the right to say such things.

Furina was now thinking:

The Ancient God King's Throne is undoubtedly the pinnacle of the fifth tier.

What level would the Heavenly Principles be within the fifth tier?

Even if they were at the peak of the fifth tier, or just the upper range—

Once she leveled up her experience and combined it with all those cards, she had nothing to fear!

"What are you thinking about?" Focalors asked curiously.

Furina smiled. "I'm thinking—what era is this? Why should we still fear the Heavenly Principles?"

"Pfft—"

That's a bit arrogant!

Focalors couldn't help but laugh, then changed the subject. She was more interested in the person who had been watching the show from the sidelines. "Can you introduce me to this gentleman now?"

"Oh, right!"

Furina snapped out of it.

She walked over to Lu Heng's side, cleared her throat, and spoke grandly:

"Next, I will solemnly introduce to you—this is the Card Patient from another world! The strongest among the strong! A master among masters! Furina's savior! The great being who alters the fate of all living beings—Lu~~Heng!"

Lu Heng couldn't help but laugh.

It was confirmed—Furina could be quite eccentric at times. Sigh.

Lu Heng sighed, stood up, and said, "Hello, I'm Lu Heng. Furina's description might be a bit exaggerated, but it's mostly accurate."

"Thank you."

Focalors reached out and shook Lu Heng's hand, feeling a sense of relief. "Furina is myself as a human, yet she also feels like my daughter. To see her like this today... Wait, why do you sound like you're a generation older than me?"

The one-year-old Furina pouted, expressing her displeasure.

"Has she caused you any trouble?" Focalors asked with concern.

She knew her other self all too well.

"None." Lu Heng shook his head. "It seems you don't know your human self as well as you thought. Now that you have plenty of time, I'm sure you'll get to know her better in the future."

"Is that so?" Focalors smiled. "I'm already looking forward to it."

Furina, who hadn't gotten to shake Lu Heng's hand, grumbled, "How long are you two going to keep holding hands?"

"Alright, alright!"

The two of them exchanged a surprised glance and chuckled before letting go.

"Anyway, the prophecy has already been set in motion—it's just that the outcome won't arrive so quickly."

"Shall we go?"

Furina looked at Lu Heng.

"I'll escort you back to the Palais Mermonia."

"Got it!"

Furina waved at Focalors and stepped through the portal.

"Then we'll take our leave," Lu Heng said with a smile.

"Mhm, see you tomorrow~"

Focalors waved cheerfully at Lu Heng.

As she watched Lu Heng step through the portal and the gateway dissipate, Focalors sighed softly.

"Changes far beyond expectations... But it's not a bad thing."

Furina pouted. "We still have plenty of time. You're free now—do whatever you want. Tomorrow, we'll talk with Neuvillette."

"Alright." Focalors nodded happily.

Lu Heng raised his hand, and a teleportation array materialized in his palm, expanding into an open gateway. On the other side was the entrance to the Palais Mermonia.

Her justice was for the survival of Fontaine's people.

As long as Fontaine's people survived the catastrophe, that was enough.
