Penelope's POV
I shot up with a gasp, my hand racing to my throat where Klaus's fingers had been clenched just moments ago. However, in place of his harsh hold, I only sensed the air and the quick thumping of my own heart.
It was just a dream. Yet another bad dream.
My gaze shifted rapidly, absorbing my environment. This wasn't the place where I had fallen into the woods. This also wasn't Klaus's residence. I lay relaxing on a comfortable bed in an area that seemed like a cave, though it had been converted into a dwelling. Gentle light shimmered from torches positioned on the walls.
Where was I located?
I started to swing my legs off the bed and somewhere a rising queer wave of dizziness made me stop. I automatically reached for my stomach checking for babies. They answered right away, and I nearly cried with joy. They were okay. Everyone was okay.
"Calm down," a soft voice said from across the room. "You have spent two days in a coma."
