I rushed up to the deck with Amelia by my side— both of us ready to see what new place was before us. Honestly I'm a bit excited about seeing what everything is like here.
White marble like walls stood before them by the docks, lining up along the pathway until they meet the gate. All the buildings in sight seemed to have similar materials, almost identical to the walls.
People were all throughout the docks as guards seem to be taking paperwork from each person who reaches the gates. This was the kingdom of Avania, one of the nicest kingdoms in Heartfeld.
"Welcome to Heartfeld Friends." Shimada speaks up as he walks past them.
Heartfeld, we finally made it to the first destination of many to come. This is the start to our long journey— the journey to end the worshippers of the goddess of death.
I'm going to find out even more information on these guys so that I can wipe them out, to prevent the goddess of death from being resurrected.
Cynthia has also joined them on the deck as they finally make it over to the docks. After securing the ship the sailors began to prepare the shipment they have aboard.
But shimada didn't care for the shipment of items that they brought for the kingdom, he was more focused on bringing his new friends in and through the gates.
"Prince Shimada what do you want us to do?" A sailor asks before they can exit the ship.
"Just deliver everything where it needs to go, I'll be showing my new friends around the kingdom." Shimada responds as he starts to lead the way.
The sailors gave a nod before they started hauling a bunch of huge crates and barrels full of different goods.
It didn't take long for us to get through the gates since Shimada has quite the status over here. Being a prince like he is— it gave us the perfect opportunity to get inside without all the extra paperwork.
The main streets of the kingdom are absolutely amazing, a site to truly take in as you walk. Buildings of all different styles with this beautiful marble look to them, it was definitely nice.
I'm starting to feel like every place I've been to is pretty damn nice or has great taste in their architecture. Are all the kingdoms really like this or is it only a few of them?
Shimada stops in front of them for a moment. "I'll take care of our place to stay for the night, let's just enjoy the day. You need to get familiar with everything here anyway. Haha." Shimada says before giving a laugh.
At least he knows his way around here so that makes it a lot easier for us to get used to this place. I'm still pretty unsure about him since he's got this strange aura to him with each time he appears.
Something feels off about him when he talks or even when he approaches us.
Tug. Tug. Artemis turns to see Amelia tugging at his shirt. "What's up Amelia?" Artemis asks quietly.
"I think I saw one of those guys from the estate, the symbol was on his shoulder plate." Amelia answers while keeping her voice down.
Thump. Thump. My heart felt like it was beating out of my chest, this feeling wasn't fear this time around. I'm feeling quite enraged if I'm being honest.
These guys killed both of our families and they plan to kill plenty more just to resurrect the goddess. I won't let that happen no matter what— Even if I have to kill more of these guys.
His eye was still a bit consumed by the dark mist from before but it wasn't hiding itself whatsoever. It was quiet obvious that something was up with it.
"What direction did you see them in?" Artemis asks while trying not to give away his rage.
Cynthia takes notice of his eye and even moves a bit closer to watch over him. "East side of the streets." Amelia responds while watching his body language.
Instinctively he felt himself turning towards the East side of the streets to see if the men were still around. Two of the men seemed to be talking over by the side of the shop before them.
Both of their faces were covered by a knight like helmet with holes on the face plate. "Artemis don't do anything stupid." Cynthia whispers from the other side of him.
I forgot Cynthia was with us at first... only because I was focused on the enemies before me. Those bastards deserve death—even if they don't give me any information this time around.
Flashes of his parents laying on the ground in puddles of blood are all he can see as his hand reaches the hilt of his sword. "What could I possibly do that's stupid?" He questions while staring intently at the men.
Shimada also takes notice of where his gaze has gone, seeing the men before them. "Ah so that's what's going on, go ahead." Shimada interrupts with more of a serious tone in his voice.
His usual playful tone has disappeared for the moment and he seems to be encouraging Artemis to deal with them.
I'm currently in unknown territory and have no way to know if these guys have any control of this place. I only see the two of them but I don't know if there's more hiding in the shadows.
Would it be smart for me to dispose of them now before they can even call for reinforcements?
My hearts racing, bloods boiling, and all I can think about is my blade in their chests. I've never had such a feeling before, why is it suddenly here...
"Because that's how you feel, the rage within Artemis." A soft voice speaks with a calm tone.
There's a lot of different emotions dwelling within me, most I can't express because it would ruin a lot. It would cause a scene that we can't afford to deal with right now.
"Shit, no I can't do anything yet." Artemis says while calming down.
I've got to be smart about all of this if I'm going to stop them all.
