Chapter 50 - OPRS: Chapter 50

Alistair was only clear about the big picture, such as the rebellion itself.

He wasn't a fool; he wouldn't tell those infiltrating the Marines what they would do next. This wasn't a lack of trust, but rather, the less they knew, the safer they would be.

Even if traitors emerged, if they all knew roughly the same information, their value would decrease significantly. The CP might even play the long game.

This made them much safer.

This is why Alistair wouldn't share much information about their organization.

He only taught them methods.

What methods?

For example, how to train soldiers.

This would indeed enhance the Marines' combat capabilities, but from a broader perspective, if these enhanced Marines were brought over, the revolutionaries would instantly gain a reliable and powerful army.

And don't forget, Alistair was the originator of this tactic. His 21st-century tactical knowledge wouldn't be hampered by the enemy's firing squad tactics.

On the contrary, the firing squad was a backward tactic. If the Marines used it against him, they would suffer heavy losses next time.

He even prepared an excuse for Isuka to promote this tactic: tell them truthfully that they encountered the Devils Luck Pirates, who used this tactic to defeat them, and that it was very effective and worth promoting.

The Marines would naturally take this seriously.

Besides tactical training, they also received ideological indoctrination:

"Does this world exist because of the nobles, royalty, and Celestial Dragons?"

"This is a negative, self-evident statement."

"Even if I don't say it, you already understand, but you're afraid to speak out because of the World Government and the Marines' power, right?"

"I'm bolder, so I'll say it for you."

"The Celestial Dragons are the world's biggest parasites, the royalty are medium-sized parasites, and the nobles are small parasites, all feeding on this world."

"Why? Because ordinary people create value."

"A simple example: farmers produce food, fishermen catch fish. They produce valuable goods, and merchants transport these goods to those who need them, profiting and increasing the value of these goods."

"Everyone plays a role."

"But can you find the Celestial Dragons' role?"

"They only consume."

"So, question one: where does their money come from?"

"Taxes, the Heavenly Tribute."

"Where do these taxes come from?"

"From the World Government's affiliated countries, massive annual taxes. They pay this as protection money to the Marines to protect themselves from pirate raids."

"Ordinary people who struggle to support their families, burdened by national taxes and the Heavenly Tribute, have only bankruptcy as an option. Then they go to sea and become pirates."

"This seems like an unsolvable cycle, but by eliminating the Celestial Dragons, ordinary people will breathe a sigh of relief, reducing the likelihood of them becoming pirates, and even the Marines will be relieved."

"Why don't the Marines attack the Celestial Dragons?"

"There's only one reason: the Marines are the Celestial Dragons' dogs."

"The Celestial Dragons possess the power to destroy the world, and the Marines are terrified. They fear the world's destruction, so they submit, becoming the Celestial Dragons' dogs, helping them suppress the world."

"So, should we submit because of this?"

Alistair lectured for a long time, all night, everyone listening quietly.

He paused, leaving the question to them.

The Boa Sisters were also listening. This was a crucial lesson for them.

Hancock trembled with rage, wanting to shout, "So what if the world is destroyed? Just spend three days as a slave to the Celestial Dragons, and you'll wish for the world's destruction!"

Alistair didn't provide answers; they needed to find them themselves. Instead, he began to talk about his experiences—something the Boa Sisters couldn't bear to hear, but which Alistair had no qualms about mentioning: "I was once a slave to the Celestial Dragons."

"!!!" Everyone was shocked. They never imagined he had such a painful past, even less that he would speak of it so openly.

"Those who haven't lived under them have no idea how terrifying the Celestial Dragons are."

"They aren't strong; everyone here could defeat them, but they are inhuman."

"They have the same blood as us, but they consider themselves a different race. Their treatment of ordinary people of different races is even more perverse."

"Young Celestial Dragons often take many wives, discarding them once they're bored—executing them or giving them away—this is nothing." Alistair's casual tone sent chills down everyone's spines.

They knew these wives could be their sisters, daughters, or even their wives.

And this wasn't considered a big deal?

"One Celestial Dragon liked collecting human skin."

"All kinds of human skin, living human skin. It's best if the person is still alive when skinned—a 'collection' to match his collection."

"So he had a Devil Fruit user who specialized in skinning people. Without skin, humans die quickly from infection, but to preserve them, he built a bacteria-free house. Even if they left, they would die quickly. They couldn't leave him; they would lose their skin and live under this Celestial Dragon for the rest of their lives."

Alistair's tone was calm, but his words sent chills down everyone's spines.

Compared to this skinner, the other Celestial Dragons who enjoyed beauty were nothing!
