After quick greetings, Mehra and Jack headed back to Granny's house. Jack stepped out and breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't see Angela's patrol car.
However, he saw someone else.
It was one of the men who had come to his rescue in the police station.
What are they doing here?
Startled by their sudden appearance, Jack rushed to the gate. He thought the man would say something or stop him, but he didn't even acknowledge Jack's presence.
Jack was about to ask him something when he heard laughter coming from inside. He walked in and saw the woman from before chatting with Granny while sipping tea, as if they had known each other for ages.
For a moment, he wondered if Granny had asked the woman to help him, but Jack knew otherwise. There was no way the woman knew Granny, or vice versa.
Which meant one thing… she was there for him.
"There he is," Granny smiled. "You rowdy brat, why didn't you tell me you had a fiance? Do you have any idea how worried she was about you?"
