Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Meteor Shower

- The same day at night -

Izuku, Nejire, and the two mothers stood side by side, looking at the beautiful phenomena in the sky with wonder in their eyes.

Looking at something so magnificent, you can see how unimportant and small you really are in the true sense of the universe. You aren't even big enough to be considered a sand grain in the view of the whole universe.

"Did you know Izu? My mother told me once when I was still younger. If you look at a shooting star and wish for something hard enough, your wish will be fulfilled if you have some luck… In the past, my wish for my father to come back never came true… Maybe I just wasn't lucky enough, but today, there are so many shooting stars! So I am sure it will come true if we two wish for something hard enough!" Nejire said with an undertone of sadness in her voice, completely untypical for her, who was always so cheery.

It was already surprising to see a meteor shower combined with an aurora, and seeing something like that in Japan was even more of a miracle.

Unknown to them at the moment is that when Nejire asked some hours ago if there were shooting stars to see, and her mother said no, Izuku saw her sad look and was distressed for her. In the small moment, his mood changed; there seemed to be some changes in the sky, not that the four people knew of that fact.

The rest is history. It was certainly lucky to see this meteor shower that night.

Izuku and the two mothers looked at Nejire with some distress.

Thinking about her words, Izuku couldn't help but sigh.

He never had a good father-son relationship with his father, which may explain why he didn't care that much when his father left.

Of course, there was some sadness and even self-blame initially, but it quickly vanished after Izuku had a talk with Inko.

After his quirk was confirmed, his sadness about his father's departure completely vanished.

If his father didn't want him because some minor problems appeared, why should he want him back now that there aren't anymore?

He left him and his mother without even hesitating for a moment.

Do you really want such a person back in your life just because you are now 'fixed'?

Izuku was sure his father still didn't know that his son now had a confirmed quirk, and it was better that way.

Izuku never even considered telling him.

His father worked far away from their family, which didn't improve his relationship with him.

It was good to see him once a week.

So, in the end, nothing changed for Izuku since he never had that much contact with him anyway.

The only thing that made him sad was the feelings of his mother.

Only after seeing her angry face when she talked about his 'useless' father did he completely let go of his self-blame.

Considering that his only real friend in this world was in a bad mood, he surprised even his shy self by taking Nejire's small hand in his own small hand.

Nejire, who was two years older than him, was a head taller than him, but that didn't hinder him from leaning his head into Nejire's side.

Izuku thought that when he was sad in the past, his mother did the same thing to him, so surely it would also cheer up Nejire.

His mother's action helped him through tough times, so why shouldn't it help his friend?

When Nejire looked at him, he even tried to give her his best confident smile, even though there was nothing to smile about.

"I am sure if you wish for something strong enough, it will be fulfilled this time," Izuku said naively, unsure if this wish thing was real.

He had never heard of something like that.

'A fulfilled wish isn't that weird considering that Santa Claus can visit every house on the planet at Christmas in only one night,' Izuku thought to himself, confirming that maybe wishes really can be fulfilled.

Of course, he was still young and didn't know anything.

He didn't even know that different time zones existed. The current Izuku didn't know that Santa, in fact, had more than one night to deliver all the presents to the kids in the world!

"You think so? Can my wish really be fulfilled?" Nejire tilted her head while looking at the sky again, not forgetting to keep holding Izuku's smaller hand.

The two mothers, still standing behind them, could only smile at them weirdly, but didn't say anything.

'As long as she doesn't wish for her father to return, everything is good, and maybe her wish has a chance to be fulfilled. But the wish with her father will never be fruitful, as if I would let that man come back to our family! Only over my dead body would I even let that scumbag contact my daughter!' Nejire's mother thought to herself angrily.

Their case was similar to Izuku and Inko's, so she would never let that man come back again. She even suspected that he already had another family, even when they were still together, so that's that.

"Then I wish to have a Devil Fruit from One Piece!! But don't give me the useless ones! I don't want a devil fruit that turns you into a mouse! And also make it look super nice!" Nejire said with a sudden enthusiasm, completely changing back to her cheerful self in minutes.

Hearing her wish, the other three people present couldn't help but sweatdrop.

'She even gave conditions for her wish…' the three thought.

'At least she doesn't wish for her father to come back anymore. Maybe my talks with her were still somewhat helpful.' Umiha thought to herself, relieved that her daughter had finally let go.

She knew that Nejire was still sad about her father, but if she gave her some time, the problem would be solved without her doing anything further.

"What do you wish for, Izuku?" Nejire asked with a smile.

'She is really calm today… She didn't bombard me with any questions, answers, or facts today… She still seems a little sad, even if she tries to hide it.' Izuku thought with some worry that quickly vanished for her sake.

It didn't take long for Izuku to think about something he wanted.

"I wish I knew exactly what my quirk does and how to use it!" Izuku said with some helplessness in his voice.

Don't get him wrong. He really likes his quirk. He has found many nice things since he was young, and even in the Multiple-choice tests he sometimes had in school, he never ticked a wrong answer, even without looking at the questions.

However, he still didn't exactly know what his quirk does and if he could do something to activate it.

"WOW! What a nice wish, Izuku! Why didn't I think about something like that?! Wait. No! My wish was also good. Who wouldn't want to have a devil fruit?! I still want to know if the curse of the sea is only active in the One Piece world. Wouldn't that confirm the existence of gods in our world if the curse is still active, even in our world?! Oh, Noo! Wrong. Maybe it would confirm that there are no gods in our world and that the curse comes from something else. That's a bit complicated, huh? So maybe we could even go for a swim after we've eaten one of the fruits. Wouldn't that be exciting?!" Nejire said with excitement in her voice, not even considering the fact that she just randomly decided that all four of them would eat devil fruits even though they don't even exist…

'Well, her quiet moments seem to be over. I have to say, Nejire like that is more likable anyway.' Izuku thought with a smile.

After one more hour of watching the stars and seeing many different fantastic things in the sky, the group of four decided to walk home once again, not knowing that in the background of Izuku's wish, a being who started to develop a weird System in the universe was killed by one of his many enemies.

The even weirder thing is that the unfinished so-called System, which until now only has a status and inspection function, was pushed into a space crack and vanished to who knows where.
