It was one week later that Izuku's wish was fulfilled in a way he didn't expect.
Waking up on this day, Izuku was surprised to see a weird screen appearing in front of him.
It looks a bit transparent and like a typical game screen, which some fantasy games have, only a bit simpler.
The screen called itself a System and was seemingly an unfinished project of a now-dead 'Higher being' from the universe.
Izuku doesn't exactly know what a higher being is, but considering the system said that the 'Higher being' was dead and that his high luck never let him down, he completely believed and rejoiced in this new system he had gained.
It has two working functions.
1. Status: It shows Izuku's current body status. Izuku thinks it looks like a simplified status board from a game he once saw online. Since it's unfinished, it only shows his name and abilities.
2. Inspect: It could inspect any item that Izuku looked at and wanted to examine. It shows all the information about the item he was looking at.
At the start, there was also a small voice explaining to him how the system's functions worked.
After the system explained the two working functions, the mechanical voice vanished.
Considering that the voice just got cut off mid-sentence and combining the fact that the last sounds of the system sounded broken and buggy, Izuku didn't expect it to come back anytime soon or at all.
With his new Status screen, he finally knew what his quirk was and how it worked.

"Sorry, Nejire-chan. I thought about some things." Izuku answered wryly. He knew Nejire didn't like to be ignored, even if she didn't show it to outsiders.
"No Problem! Just watch it next time! I don't want to say everything two or three times! Where was I? Ahh, yes, we are already old enough!! We should start to train our bodies! I want to be a hero in the future! I know you probably don't want to be a hero in the future, but considering you won't lose anything doing it, why not?! Did you know that regular training can strengthen your lifelong health? Both physical and mental health are boosted! Isn't it fascinating?! And doing it together, I am sure our motivation won't go away so fast! So please train with me…" Nejire said, even getting slightly nervous at the end of her talk. She really didn't want to train alone.
'It is so boring to do things without my Izuku… hopefully, he agrees,' Nejire thought to herself secretly with some worry.

"Uhhh… okay… We can start tomorrow. You know it's rumored that Sea King's flesh from the one-piece anime is the reason why the bodies of the humans on that planet are so weird and powerful… " Izuku said, drifting off the topic.
"And now?" Nejire asked, tilting her head in his direction.
Izuku could only smile at her before calling out to his quirk.
"I wish I had some Sea King's flesh that could strengthen Nejire's and my bodies."
Barely a second after Izuku said these words, a space hole suddenly opened in the living room where they were currently sitting.
The hole spews out some weird-looking flesh before instantly vanishing again.

In another world, a strong-looking old man with graying hair and a beard looked blankly at the part of the sea king's flesh, which had just vanished into a weird black hole.

He didn't really know when it started, but for some weird reason, Nejire started collecting devil fruits in an extra room in her mother's house.

The reason why she only asked for one fruit a month?

She already has many nice fruits in her collection. Her favorite and probably the strongest fruit in her collection is the Toki Toki no Mi.
The fruit looks like a green clock and was once the fruit of Kouzuki Toki.
If it weren't for the fact that the fruit could only travel to the future, Nejire would probably have eaten it a long time ago.
Even now, she still struggles to decide whether to eat it or not.

"Blueberry?" Nejire asked a bit weirdly, looking at the berry-sized devil fruit in Izuku's hand.
Until now, every devil fruit she got was estimated to be the size of an apple, but this one was something else.
Before being dumbfounded for too long, Nejire started to squeal.
"WOW! A new type of fruit! It looks so unique! It will be a nice addition to my collection!" Nejire squealed with twinkling eyes, leaning in front of the fruit with her head. Her eyes were shining with curiosity.
"Which fruit do you think this one is? Nehhhh, Izuku, can you inspect it quickly? It's so exciting! It's like unpacking a gift at Christmas," Nejire said excitedly, like a small child, while eagerly jumping around Izuku.
The next thing that happened was weird.
When they talked about this day some years later, they still didn't know if Izuku's luck arranged the next moment or if it was some weird will of the devil fruit.
In One Piece, it is said that every Devil Fruit has a will that can sometimes act, delivering itself to its destined person. The most prominent example was Luffy with his destined Nika fruit.
At that moment, just as Izuku opened his mouth to calm the excited Nejire down, Nejire herself jumped up and accidentally bumped into Izuku's hand, which held the fruit in it. The fruit made a weird arc in the air and landed in Izuku's mouth.
