Val Zahar didn't let his guard down as he continued putting pressure on the middle aged demon, but it didn't seem to have an effect in the end.
Even with him exerting this red aura, it seemed like the middle aged demon was immune to it.
Or at the very least, it seemed that the middle aged demon was strong enough to stop himself from being pressured by it.
In the end, the middle aged demon suddenly said, "Alright, stop that for now and let's talk."
Val Zahar raised a brow after hearing this, but he did stop releasing the pressure in the end as he waited to see what the middle aged demon had to say.
The middle aged demon didn't speak right away as he just looked at Val Zahar for a bit.
But then he suddenly said, "When did you obtain this power? This power is not something that you should have had since you were born, right?"
Val Zahar didn't answer at first as he continued staring at the middle aged demon.
Eventually, he said, "I don't know."
The middle aged demon narrowed his eyes to look at Val Zahar before saying, "What do you mean by this?"
Once again, Val Zahar didn't answer right away, but eventually he said, "I really don't know. I've only woken up a few days ago and I've found that I can't remember anything from my past. I was just gathering these monsters around me and have been wandering around looking for a place to live, but these lands are the lands of the humans and you should know how humans act towards demons like us."
The middle aged demon narrowed his eyes even more to look at Val Zahar, almost as if he was trying to determine if he was being serious or not.
Seeing that Val Zahar didn't react at all to this, the middle aged demon fell into a state of deep thought.
After a while, he suddenly clapped his hands together as if he thought of something before he said, "Demon Seed!"
Val Zahar raised a brow to look at the middle aged demon when he said this, but he didn't say anything as he waited to see what else he would say.
The middle aged demon didn't say anything else at first as he looked at Val Zahar once more. Only this time, it seemed that he was looking at him with interest, rather than with doubt.
"Well I guess you wouldn't know what this means since you would have been just born if this is the case."
After saying this, the middle aged demon explained, "The rumours are that when the demon king is born, the Demon God will send down the Demon Seed that will take the form of the demon king. The demon king that results can take any form it wants and it seems that this time, it's taken the form of a young man like you. You must have just been born, which is why you don't know anything."
Val Zahar clearly didn't seem like he trusted what the middle aged demon said, but the middle aged demon didn't seem to care about this as he started talking to himself.
"I just came to see if I could disrupt the hero ceremony of those humans, but I never thought that I would find something like this. But then again, since the humans are holding their hero ceremony and trying to find a hero, that should mean that there would be a demon king born to face that hero."
Once again, the way that the middle aged demon looked at Val Zahar completely changed.
This time, it was as if he was looking at a treasure with the way that he looked at him.
After looking at him like this for a bit, the middle aged demon said, "You won't be able to stay here anyway, so how about coming back with me to the land of the demons?"
"You said that you wanted to refine me, do you really think that I'll go with you that easily?" Val Zahar said with a snort.
The middle aged demon didn't seem to mind this as he waved his hand and said, "That was in the past. Now I just want to bring you back to help you take your place on the throne. If I help the demon king, I'll get far more than what I would have gotten from absorbing your power."
Val Zahar couldn't help shaking his head when he heard this before saying, "And why should I trust you?"
"Well, there's no reason for you to trust me, but there's nothing for you to lose from following me. If I'm not lying, then you'll be able to see it when we arrive. If I am lying, what difference does it make if we fight here or if we fight later?" The middle aged demon said with a smile that truly embodied the sly nature that the demons were known for.
But after Val Zahar thought about it for a bit, he slowly gave a nod to show that he agreed.
The middle aged demon revealed a wide smile when he saw this before saying, "Then let's go while we still can. There's no doubt that there will be more humans gathering for the hero ceremony later on. We should leave before the rest of the humans arrive."
Val Zahar gave another simple nod in response before having the monsters that were around follow him.
The middle aged demon didn't care that the monsters were following as he led the way forward.
But while walking, he heard something being muttered behind him.
"What is it?" The middle aged demon asked Val Zahar after turning around.
Val Zahar just had a blank look on his face as he said, "It's nothing."
Though he couldn't help thinking that this middle aged demon's ears were quite sharp.
What the middle aged demon had missed was…
"He gets a cute saintess to guide him and I get this middle aged man…It really isn't fair."
