Chapter 10 - The ride to Eldrador

Bethany stood before her full length mirror, completely at war with herself.

She was adorned in a white sundress with spaghetti straps. It's bodice fitted her thin but toned torso. The neckline tastefully low, just enough to get one curious, but not enough to flash anyone, her oranges, hidden perfectly well behind the in-built bra cups.

The fitted bodice stopped at just above her hip before flaring out and stopping just above her knees.

Her light olive skin oiled to perfection stood out alluringly in contrast to her white dress, making it pop.

Her long, shiny dark blond hair was pulled back neatly, just two very thin strands released close to her ears and a fairly thick chunk in the middle of her forehead.

She stood before the mirror, unable to decide what side of her face she was going to let the thick chunk fall to.

Groaning she went to sit by her bed in frustration, the thick chunk falling to her face. In frustration she tried to blow it away when she heard a honk from downstairs, her screen lighting up, showing a text from Theo saying he was downstairs.

"Shit." She cursed, going back to her dressing table and plugging back the flat iron, pacing as she waited for it to heat up.

As soon as the indicator turned blue, she picked it immediately, using it to press the chunk to her left side, urgency and care in her movements.

The last thing she wanted was a burn on her face.

Done in seconds, she unplugged the iron, placing it on the table and rushing to her bed to pick her purse and phone.

Giving herself a once over in the mirror and grateful that neither her subtle dark brown smoky eye nor her nude lip gloss had been smudged, she bolted out of the room, to the entrance of their house.

Taking a deep breath, she calmed her nerves, shutting her eyes for some minutes. "Mom said it isn't hard. I can do this." She muttered before opening the door to reveal Theo standing before her in all of his glory, a small smirk laying easily on his face when he say her taking him in.

Bethany was dumbstruck by his appearance.

First off, he was way taller than she had thought he was and she was very much tiny compared to him. His hair was jelled back dulling the colour of his golden blond hair.

He had on a crisp white dress shirt that was buttoned from bottom to the top, leaving only the first three, a dark glittery necklace, lay on his chest, peaking out from the small space.

Her eyes lingered on his skin behind the necklace.

"Eyes are up here, princess." He said smoothly, his velvety voice pulling her out of her reverie.

"Uh.." She stuttered, shaking her head lightly and took a step backward. Trying to hold on to what was left of her dignity, her cheek tinting in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry. That was creepy." She said, fighting the smile that threatened to betray her further.

"It's alright. Besides it's all yours." He said smugly, causing her cheeks and ears to burn even more in embarrassment. Satisfied with his handiwork, he took out his hand from his pocket, taking her purse from her.

"Lock up, the others are waiting." He said smoothly like he hadn't just watched her burn few seconds ago.

Gulping quietly, she walked out of the house, locking the door behind her and taking her key with her.

Taking his other outstretched arm, she let him lead her to his really expensive looking vehicle which she ogled for a moment. She had never seen a vehicle that beautiful.

Opening the passenger door for her, he helped her settle in comfortably on the plush leather, making sure her dress was all tucked in before closing the door and going to his side, settling in as well.

She adjusted in her seat, taking in the complicated dashboard before her. From the screen as big as her laptop's to the multiple controllers.

Her eyes scanned the button that sat in place of where the car key was supposed to be, her face twisted in confusion, and Theo, the ever sensitive one, caught onto her confusion and explained immediately.

He watched as the crease on her forehead straightened in understanding but not completely then he knew she was nervous.

"You know, you do not have to be scared or nervous or worried. We'd bring you back in one piece."

"Oh, no. I'm not scared. I'm just nervous." To meet you guys, of going to the city, and our conversation. She thought quietly in her mind, before releasing a sigh.

Theo could see that she was holding back but didn't bother her. She was going to come around eventually. She had to.

"Okay then." He said, turning on the engine. "You, Princess, are about to have your first and exclusive ride to the city of Eldrador." Theo said excitedly, grinning from ear to ear, causing Bethany to laugh heartily at him.

He couldn't help but feel his chest swell in excitement and warmth. He had made her smile, he had made her laugh, so heartily. Seeing her squint her eyes on joy made him feel something he's never felt before.

Something he'd give anything to keep feeling.

Their ride to the city was very smooth and they both loved every bit of it.

She got to know that he schooled in Eldrador University, Troy in Eldrida and Tristan in Tenebrous. She had heard of these cities before but nothing else, just in passing.

But Theo filled her in on his what his years where like in the University. The parties, the girls, the Professor problems, and even one time he had gotten in trouble with a human cult group.

Bethany, with her eyes lit up like a bulb, she absorbed all of his mind blowing stories, her mind working overtime creating images for better understanding.

She felt so comfortable, at ease and...at peace. She hadn't had a conversation this easy and long with anyone else in the pack except her parents, given her invisible status.

But yet, it felt so natural to talk and listen to him like they had known each other for ages.

Theo was more than ready to give her every information she wanted, he answered all of her questions, even adding side details.

Talking was one of his very few hobbies, one he never showed anyone, but now, Bethany needed him talking, who was he to decline?

He didn't ask her too many questions, as he noticed she was only good on listening, not talking so when she gave her answers, he didn't pry, which made her seem more comfortable.

He needed her to loosen up, not just around him, but around his brothers as well.

So if talking was the price he had to pay, he was more than willing to give.

Besides he had it in abundance.
