Chapter 25 - CH 24 BLESSING -3

Prerna says to Sun, "My blessing," jokingly, "this is a secret. I will tell you my blessing when the time comes." Sun asks, "You told me the origin of the blessing, but you didn't tell me how to use it?"

Prerna says that a blessing is a kind of power; when a talented individual is skilled at something, gods or goddesses related to that field bestow their blessings upon them. Using a blessing is very simple; the talented individual needs to remember their blessing to use it.

Prerna says to Sun, "Alright, enough talking about blessings. Now you should go to sleep. Tomorrow, we must go to the temple to perform a ritual to seek your blessing."

That night, Sun, remembering the prerna words, thought that in this world, power is considered a blessing, and it is given to talented individuals. Then Sun recalled that an unknown voice had gifted Sun a power in the form of a gift, called the illusion of truth.

This gift is both different from and similar to a blessing. It differs from a blessing in that a blessing is given to a talented individual, whereas I receive this power as a gift. Another difference is that a blessing grants power over one particular ability of the talented individual, while this gift bestows upon me many different kinds of powers. And how are they the same is that both "god" and "goddess" have a given power, and in both, our power distinguishes us from others. They are also the same because both are very easy to use.

Then he remembers his power, and he is in his inner mind, where he meets Sapna. Sapna tells Sun to use his power. While they are talking, morning arrives, and the Sun doesn't even realize it.

Sun gets ready the next day and meets his entire family, where he receives blessings from the elders. Prerna wishes him a happy birthday, and he meets Rohan. Prerna surprises Sun by introducing him to his younger sister, who had been away from him for her schooling. Sun is very happy to see his sister, and the two of them share many conversations. Sun's family all enjoy celebrating his birthday together.

Then, according to tradition, Rohan and Prerna take Sun to the temple for the ritual to receive blessings. Prerna, Sun, Rohan, and Sun's younger sister all go to the temple for the ritual. Sun then performs the ritual, and the temple priest tells Sun that to receive the blessings of the gods and goddesses, he must sit beneath their idols and pray. If they grant their blessing, a bright light will appear on the idols; if not, no light will be seen.

Sun follows all the instructions given to him and sits beneath the statues of the gods and goddesses to pray. A considerable amount of time passes, but no light emanates from the statues of the gods and goddesses. This means that the sun does not bestow any blessings.

Seeing all this, Rohan and Prerna were shocked and wondered why Sun did not receive any blessings. Rohan asked the temple priest whether the ritual had been performed correctly or if it needed to be done again. Understanding Rohan's concern, the priest assured him that the ritual was proper and that he had personally overseen it carefully; there was no mistake. He also confirmed that it was true that the Sun did not receive any blessing. Hearing this, Rohan found it hard to believe that Sun had not been blessed.
