Eve walked into Dr. Smith's office, determined to take over Roman's case. Dr. Smith listened to her request, but his expression was skeptical.
"I'm afraid there's nothing I can do, Dr. Eve," Dr. Smith said. "Roman's case is a complex one, and I've been instructed to follow a specific treatment plan."
Eve's eyes narrowed. "Instructed by whom?"
Dr. Smith hesitated. "The MD, Reed Anderson. If you're so invested in taking over the case, you might want to try persuading him."
Eve's heart sank, but she refused to give up. She asked for directions to Reed Anderson's office and set off to plead her case.
When she arrived at the office, her eyes widened in surprise. The MD, Reed Anderson, was the same man she had bumped into at the mall with Isabella. What were the chances?
Reed looked up from his desk, a hint of recognition in his eyes. "Dr. Eve, isn't it? We met at the mall."
Eve nodded, still trying to process the coincidence. "Yes, that's right. I didn't expect to see you here."
Reed smiled. "I'm the MD here at the hospital. What brings you to my office?"
Eve took a deep breath and explained her request to take over Roman's case. Reed listened intently, his expression thoughtful.
When she finished, Reed leaned back in his chair. "I'm intrigued, Dr. Eve. You seem genuinely invested in Roman's case. I'll approve the transfer, but I expect you to keep me updated on his progress."
Eve's heart soared. She couldn't believe she had gotten her way. "Thank you, Dr. Anderson. I won't let you down."
As she left the office, Eve felt a sense of determination. She was one step closer to helping Roman, and she wouldn't let anyone stand in her way.
Eve walked back to Dr. Smith's office, a sense of triumph in her step. She knocked on the door and entered when he called out. "Dr. Smith, I'm back," she said with a smile. "I've spoken to Dr. Anderson, and he's approved the transfer. I'll be taking over Roman's case."
Dr. Smith looked up from his paperwork, a mix of surprise and curiosity on his face. "I didn't expect Dr. Anderson to agree so readily. You're a persuasive young doctor, Dr. Eve."
Eve nodded, feeling a sense of pride. "I'll make sure to keep Dr. Anderson updated on Roman's progress. I'd like to review Roman's files and get started on his treatment plan as soon as possible."
Dr. Smith nodded, handing her a stack of files. "Very well. Roman's history and current treatment plan are all in here. I'll introduce you to his nurse, and she'll show you to his room."
With the files in hand, Eve felt a sense of purpose.
As Eve sat in the hospital cafeteria, pouring over Roman's file, Tom walked by and spotted her. "Hey, Eve! Want to join us for lunch?" he asked, nodding towards their colleagues chatting in the corner.
Eve looked up from the file, distracted. "Oh, thanks Tom, but I think I'll pass. I need to get familiar with this case ASAP."
Tom nodded understandingly. "No problem, catch you later then. Good luck with the case!"
With a brief smile, Eve returned her focus to the file, devouring every detail about Roman's condition. As she studied, her mind whirled with questions and hypotheses. What was the cause of Roman's coma? Were there any underlying conditions that could be contributing to his state apart from the sedatives? And most importantly, what could she do to help him?
As she turned the pages, Eve's eyes widened at the complexity of Roman's case. She felt a thrill of excitement mixed with concern. This was going to be a challenge, but she was ready. With determination, Eve began outlining a plan of action, her mind racing with possibilities.
Just then, her phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number. "Dr. Eve, it's Reed Anderson. I'd like to discuss Roman's case further. Can you meet me in my office at 2 PM?"
Eve's heart skipped a beat. What did Reed want to discuss? She quickly typed out a response. "Of course, Dr. Anderson. I'll be there."
With the meeting looming, Eve's focus intensified as she dove deeper into Roman's file.
Eve sipped her coffee staring blankly at Roman's file in front of her. She couldn't shake off the anticipation of seeing Roman's body for the first time. What would he look like? Would he be disfigured? The thought sent a shiver down her spine.
As she imagined the possibilities, Eve's mind began to wander to all the what-ifs. What if Roman's injuries were too severe? The weight of responsibility settled heavily on her shoulders.
Taking a deep breath, Eve tried to calm her racing thoughts. Maybe it was the complexity of his condition or the sense of urgency that came with it. Whatever it was, Eve felt a deep sense of commitment to helping him.
