Chapter 39 - Chapter 7

Time isn't there to heal you, but to make you forget.

After a while of waiting, Dan walks out of his room. His steps are slow and slightly unsteady. He wears a black suit with a black tie."We should head out now, young master and Miss Lilith," Hellen says. At that, my gaze snaps back to her."Why are you calling Lilith Miss Lilith instead of my lady or young lady?" Dan sounds angry."I told her to call me that," I inform Dan while making my way to the flower garden where the picnic is being held.

Soon after, Dan catches up to me and walks beside me, while Hellen follows behind us.Since I started training him, his muscles have become much stronger, though he still suffers from soreness for days.

I had changed my clothes to shorts and an oversized T-shirt before heading to Dan's room. Since that kind of style doesn't exist here, every servant who saw me in that outfit stared—heads snapping back for a second look, stunned into silence.

Soon after, we arrive at the garden. The grass, still wet from last night's rain, feels cold against my bare feet. The sun shines so beautifully that it's annoying.

The marquis and marquess are sitting under the cherry blossom tree. Mika is playing on the swing while Lila helps by pushing her.Kira is reading a book, and Jame, who is next to her, is napping. Along with the marquis and marquess, Kira and Jame are on a picnic mat big enough for five more people. The mat is pastel yellow with flower patterns on it.

I scan the garden, searching for Liam and Max. I find Liam sitting on a tree branch, but Max is nowhere to be found. While I stand in place, searching for Max with my eyes, Dan is already sitting next to the marquess.

I walk toward them. I'm not worried about Max. Why would I be?I just have a bad feeling.

This feeling never lets me down. If it's right—like it always is—that means I need to hurry and find him before anything bad happens.

One thing I have to make sure of is that no one around me finds out about whatever's going to happen. If I ask them where Max is and tell them I have a bad feeling that's always right, they'll only panic. That would slow me down and become a burden.

Whatever's happening right now… it won't lead to anything, right?
