Gu Zhongchen could be seen sitting in his office. He was deep in thought. There were still 30 minutes before the meeting began again.
"How many companies should I invest in? There are a lot of companies that do very well in the future," Gu Zhongchen thought. "Sometimes having too many options is kind of annoying," Gu Zhongchen said aloud, sighing in annoyance.
Gu Zhongchen was, of course, talking about the knowledge gained from the novel. The novel about this world had a lot of information that he could take advantage of. Among them, there was information about many companies that would do very well in the future.
However, he could not invest in all of them. Many companies were already owned by other big corporations. So getting shares in those companies would be very difficult. Other companies clashed with some of the big companies that were allies of the Gu Industries.
So Gu Zhongchen would have to select companies that clashed with neither of the two topics. Fortunately, there were still quite a few companies that did just that. These companies were also those that the protagonist of this world would own in the future. So getting these companies would probably trouble him.
After thinking about the companies that he wanted to invest in, Gu Zhongchen got up from his seat. It was currently 2:30 p.m., so the break was over, and the meeting would resume.
Entering the meeting room with assistant Zhou Long, Gu Zhongchen saw that all the executives were present. He sat on the chair at the head of the table and said, "Alright, we can resume the meeting now. First of all, I reviewed the reports during the lunch break. You have all done well. All of the companies under you have been doing well so far. Good job. You will all get a 20 percent raise."
Hearing the praise, the face of every executive brightened. They were even happier after hearing about the raise. All the executives were paid very well, so a 20 percent raise was a lot of money.
"Now, let's get to the main reason for the meeting," Gu Zhongchen said, getting serious. The executives also straightened their backs. He then said, "We will have to sell the shares of some companies, and we will invest in new ones too."
The executives were shocked. Gu Zhongchen had just said that they were doing a good job, so what he said didn't make any sense to them. Executive Zhou asked with a confused expression, "But sir, aren't we doing well? Why would we sell the shares?"
Gu Zhongchen, looking at their confused and shocked faces, assured them, saying, "You don't have to worry. We are doing well. However, that isn't the reason I want to sell the shares. One of the companies has a big problem, so we cannot be associated with them anymore. It is extremely important that we sell the shares we own of that company."
Hearing this, the executives calmed down a little and got more serious, understanding the severity of the issue.
Seeing that they had calmed down, Gu Zhongchen said, "The company with the big problem I was talking about is Shi Laboratories." Hearing about the company he handled, Mr. Lee straightened up to pay more attention. Gu Zhongchen continued, saying, "It has come to my attention that Shi Laboratories is doing something that is illegal and highly immoral. I don't have any evidence against them right now. But I know that they are doing something illegal. It could be unauthorized human experiments."
The executives and Zhou Long exclaimed in shock after hearing him say this. They didn't doubt anything he said. Gu Zhongchen was the heir to Gu Industries, so getting information about this wouldn't be hard for him.
Gu Zhongchen gave them a minute to digest this information and then continued to say, "However, there are people that are investigating this. So we have to quickly sell all the shares. Mr. Lee, you will sell the shares along with the other executives that have to sell the shares of the company that they handle. All of you will have to make it look like we are gathering funds. Fortunately, we only own 10 percent of the business and don't have much presence in Shi Laboratories."
The executives assured Gu Zhongchen that they would handle the matter properly and quietly. The executives understood what was at stake here. After all, unauthorized human experiments were very illegal, and even if Blackheart Investments wasn't involved, they could get heavily implicated.
Gu Zhongchen then said, "Needless to say, this does not get out of this room. Nobody should know about this. Now, I will tell you which of you will sell the shares of the company that you handle. Don't worry, I have already chosen replacement companies. They aren't as big as the ones you currently handle, but they have a lot more potential."
The executives were relieved to hear that. Some of them had been worried about their jobs.
Gu Zhongchen started to call out names, "Mr. Wang, Mr. Sun, Mr. Ling, and Mr. Wu, you will all sell the shares of the company you guys handle. You four and Mr. Lee will take half of the money earned from selling the shares to in vest in the companies I will tell you guys about. I have plans for the rest of the half. Do you understand?"
The mentioned executives nodded in agreement.
Gu Zhongchen continued, "Good. Now let's discuss the companies you guys will invest in. I will be very busy for the next few months, so we will make an investment plan in this meeting right now."
After that, for the next two hours, Gu Zhongchen and the executives discussed which companies to invest in and new investment plans for them.
After two hours—
"The more shares of these companies we own, the better. Preferably more than 59 percent. So do your best to get that, understood?" Gu Zhongchen said. The executives nodded, saying that they understood.
Gu Zhongchen then said, "Good. Then the meeting is now over. Except for Mr. Bai and Mr. Zhou, all the other executives may leave now. Assistant Zhou, please leave too."

Everyone except the two mentioned executives went out of the meeting room.
After everyone left, Gu Zhongchen asked, "Mr. Zhou and Mr. Bai, I heard both of you are versed in real estate?"
The two executives nodded and said that they were involved in real estate before.
Gu Zhongchen then pulled out two pieces of paper and gave one to each, saying, "The papers have the names and location of some lands. I need you two to buy these lands with half of the money we get from selling the shares . You need to buy them discreetly. No one, not even my family, should know about this. Understand?"
The two executives nodded, saying that they would get the job done.
"Good. You may leave now," Gu Zhongchen said, giving them permission to leave.
After they left, Gu Zhongchen stood up and stretched a bit. "Sitting in one place for so long is tiring," he thought. After that, he also left the meeting room. Outside the meeting room, assistant Zhou was waiting for him.
Seeing Gu Zhongchen exit the room, assistant Zhou went to him and asked, "Are you alright, sir? You seem a bit tired."
"Nah, I am fine," Gu Zhongchen said. He then asked assistant Zhou, "What time is it right now?"
"It's 5 p.m., sir," assistant Zhou replied.
Hearing the time, Gu Zhongchen frowned. "Did I forget something?" he thought, feeling like he had forgotten something important. He then thought, "Probably not. And if I did, then it's probably not something important." He then stopped thinking about it and said to assistant Zhou, "I will be in my office for some time. Bring me a coffee." Saying that, he went inside his office.

While Gu Zhongchen was busy in his office, a beautiful girl could be seen waiting in a private room of the Linson Hotel.
The girl kept looking at her watch, checking the time. After looking at it one last time, she angrily got up and went away.
