Just what was the relationship between the two of them? Did she like him?
The thought alone made him angry. Just thinking about Sapphire being close with Edgar made him even more upset than the thought of her joining Venus Entertainment. She was having such a good time and looked so relaxed in front of him. Yet she refused to accept his apology.
He felt like she should have belonged to him. Not in a romantic sense, but as a talent. At least that was how he justified his emotions for the time being.
That sly woman, what exactly is she doing?
Ricardo stared so much at Edgar and Rose, that Edgar eventually picked up on his presence. He decided to ignore it and turned his attention back to Rose. Just then, one of the additional desserts they ordered arrived. Edgar cracked open the dessert and gave it to her.
Here, this is the best dessert in this place. You should have a taste. He grabbed a spoon and fed it to her. Rose opened her mouth and took a bite with a smile. She chewed it several times, but then, a frown appeared on her face. She choked a little and spit the dessert on tissue paper.
Rose, what's wrong, are you okay? Edgar said in a panic.
There are some peaches in the cake. I am allergic to peaches. She admitted as she coughed.
I'm sorry, Rose, I didn't know. I will have them get rid of this dessert and change it to something else. He apologized and quickly ordered the waiter to change the dessert. Edgar gently tapped her back and gave her a glass of water for her to drink.
Ricardo watched everything and he became even more furious. Edgar was treating her like a devoted husband. Were they even dating? Ricardo thought.
Diana eventually noticed what was happening and turned her gaze toward Rose and Edgar.
Hm, isn't that Sapphire and Edgar Lawson? She put down her fork and placed her fingers on her cheek.
I thought they didn't know each other before. But now they are here, looking like a couple. I guess we were a little naive back then. Ricardo ignored her remark and kept his gaze on Rose.
He noticed one thing. Her complexion didn't look quite right. As he questioned what was happening, two waiters walked past them. They gossiped to each other about what had just happened.
I didn't think there were people out there who were allergic to peaches. One of the waiters said.
I guess the man ordered everything without her knowledge. He looks really worried about her. They make a perfect couple, don't you think? Ricardo ignored the last remark and focused on the first part instead.
Was she allergic to peaches? Ricardo remembered that Rose was also allergic to peaches in the past. She would get a fever and turn pale whenever she ate them. Not only did she have the same amber eyes as Rose, she also had the same allergy as her.
Suddenly, Ricardo wanted to confirm something.
Diana, you should go back first. He ordered her. Diana was baffled. Her food hadn't even arrived yet, and she only had a glass of wine so far. Why would he tell her to go back on her own when she had not taken a bite?
Ricardo, are you doing this because of Sapphire!? She asked. Ricardo didn't answer the question right away. He glared at Diana, his face was serious.
Don't ask questions which answers you won't like. He declared. His tone was low and dangerous. Diana didn't understand why he was acting that way, but Ricardo was being serious. She didn't want to anger him any further.
Fine, I will go back first. She hesitantly stood up and walked toward the door, leaving the room. Once Diana was gone, Ricardo turned his attention back to her.
He continued to observe her, only to notice they also had the same eating habits. Rose used to love eating steak and her favorite dessert was also tiramisu. How could there be so many coincidences between the two of them?
No, with that many similarities, it couldn't be sheer coincidence.
He gulped down his wine and stood up as soon as he saw her standing up as well. She was heading to the bathroom, and he went in the same direction as her.
