Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 - Mentality Awakening

Just now, Yuan Qing met a thousand-year-old gibbon. As a pure auxiliary soul master without any attack power, he never expected that he would be separated from his teammates this time.

Originally, relying on the speed boost given to itself, the little thousand year soul beast couldn't possibly reach Yuan Qing, but who was it because of the thick fog blocking its view?

By the time Yuan Qing noticed the gibbon, it was too late. He could only watch as its sharp claws attacked his head.

He even closed his eyes out of fear, but he didn't expect that after waiting for quite a while, he instead felt himself being grabbed and forced to move.

When he opened his eyes, the sharp claws in his memory did not appear, but rather a gray-haired old man appeared.

Looking at the purple soul ring that slowly appeared above the gibbon carcass in the distance, Yuan Qing couldn't help asking if the old man in front of him was the one who saved him.

"Thank you for your help, senior."

"You're welcome. Since it was my grandson who pulled you here, of course I will keep you safe."

Yuan Qing naturally nodded in agreement. No matter if the man in front of her was Xu Mingxi's grandfather or not, if she answered yes, then it was him. Now in this foggy place, he had to depend on him to protect himself.

The Great Elder brought Yuan Qing and followed Xu Mingxi closely. He wanted to train him, but he didn't want to jeopardize his life.

Even if this kid was useless, at least Super Douluo wouldn't be able to escape. Together with Mingguang, the Star Crown Sect would at best only remain the same and wouldn't degenerate.

Xu Mingxi didn't know that his grandfather was disappointed in him, and he still walked forward with an uneasy feeling.

The fog grew thicker and thicker, and visibility became less and less. Xu Mingxi, who had been guarding Star Guardian, felt his soul power draining rapidly.

It is still daytime, and Xu Mingxi's first soul ring is lit, but only a little starlight has accumulated, which can replenish some of the consumption and slightly expand the visible range, which is better than nothing.

"No, we can't go on like this. We have to get out as soon as possible. We don't know how many beasts are here."

Xu Mingxi subconsciously wanted to go find his grandfather, but after walking a few steps, he stopped and looked down at his hands with a puzzled expression on his face.

When did I become like this? No matter what happens, I always think of relying on my grandfather and the sect elders first.

How did this happen? Xu Mingxi suddenly realized, it seemed that he had become the person he used to hate the most.

In his previous life, Xu Mingxi had lived in a boarding school from the third grade until he graduated from college. He had always looked down on people who asked his parents for allowances when they lived in the school dormitory.

Unexpectedly, when he arrived at the Douluo Continent where the strong preyed on the weak, he started looking for his parents. Memories of the past flashed through Xu Mingxi's mind.

Thinking of how he used to slack off on weekends, slack off on weekdays, and even hide in the back and slack off during training, Xu Mingxi suddenly felt infinite fear in his heart.

Is this really me?

Xu Mingxi was plunged into deep self-doubt until his soul force weakened, the starlight protection dimmed slightly, and the surrounding mist dispersed, only then did he come to his senses.

After readjusting the soul force output, the Star Guard shone brightly. Xu Mingxi's gaze gradually became firm. He set his course and walked forward without looking back.

The Great Elder watched Xu Mingxi from behind as he moved forward, became confused, and then became determined. He felt satisfied that his grandson had finally grown up a little.

But instantly the Great Elder's countenance turned serious. A wolf-shaped soul beast suddenly appeared beyond Xu Mingxi's starlight protection, and even he didn't realize when the other party appeared.

Xu Mingxi was instantly terrified. He forced himself to calm his mind, turned on the Starlight Guardian to its maximum, and shot a ray of starlight towards the wolf-shaped soul beast.

What he didn't expect was that the starlight ray didn't cause any harm, not because of its lack of speed or power, but because it directly penetrated the soul beast's body. The place hit by the starlight ray instantly turned into smoke and disappeared, then returned to its original state after the attack was over.

Even the Great Elder was surprised by this. He had never seen this type of soul beast before, and there was no record of it even in the sect's soul beast encyclopedia.

Xu Mingxi was helpless against this beast for a while. Fortunately, it didn't seem to be too old and couldn't damage his star protection for a while.

"Isn't this just a weakened version of the Smoke Fruit? There are no sea stones or domineering forces on the Douluo Continent."

It tried to weave the starlight into ribbons, but the control was not strong enough and there was always a gap in the center of the ribbon for the starlight to escape.

The man and the wolf began a long tug-of-war. Xu Mingxi stopped attacking. He concentrated on guarding the Star Guard while practicing his ability to control starlight.

Until nighttime, when the stars in the sky twinkled, Xu Mingxi's first soul ring lit up, and the starlight was pulled down, directly piercing through the thick fog and illuminating his surroundings.

Surprisingly, the wolf-shaped soul beast has been fighting for so long without getting tired, and its attack power is too low.

At night, this is the Star Crown Martial Spirit's cage. If the control ability is lacking, then replace it with quantity.

A large amount of starlight gathered and intertwined into a gorgeous curtain, directly wrapping the wolf-shaped soul beast.

The curtain continued to shrink, and although it encountered a slight resistance at the center, it didn't seem to be able to penetrate it until it disappeared.

Xu Mingxi had a strange expression on his face. Was it so weak? And it didn't even produce any spirit rings. Could it be that the one just now wasn't a spirit being at all?

I was confused and could only continue walking in the direction I was heading while it was still night.

It was too late to turn back now. The surrounding environment was already covered in thick fog and Xu Mingxi was already lost.

Yuan Qing followed the great elder, and his companions grew to four people. The only ones still in the thick fog were Xu Mingxi, two Chen family brothers, and two Soul Saints.

The Great Elder led them like chicks, and if he wasn't careful, someone would get lost.

Xu Mingxi walked for who knew how long before he saw the shadow of a building in front of him and ran to it at a faster pace.

What caught his attention was not a building, but a ruin. It seemed that this place had been invaded and the ruins were full of knife cuts and flames.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of persistent footsteps, hiding behind the ruins of the building, with a ray of starlight condensed in his hand.

When he saw that it was Chen Qingting and his brother, he breathed a sigh of relief and walked out from behind the ruins.

"Mingxi, I finally found you. Did you see Xiao Rui and the others?"

"No, I've been alone since entering the fog."

"Really? It's going to be difficult."

Xu Mingxi saw that although the two Chen brothers hadn't suffered any injuries, their clothes were in tatters and there appeared to be white scratches on their bodies.

There seemed to be more than one smoke wolf. I really don't know how they were created. Xu Mingxi sat off to the side to recover his soul force, awaiting the arrival of the other companions.
