In that silent desert, there was no one visible for miles. As the wind blew, the sand of the desert began to rise into the air. The sound of horses' hooves stepping in the sand echoed, describing how deserted the desert was.
Qasim looked ahead carefully, knowing no one was watching him. Then he reached behind to his bag's pocket and took out the page containing the mission information he had solved—hoping this clue would help him get some lead from the Mask Man standing in front of him.
In that silent desert, due to the gusts of wind, that page started fluttering.
Qasim raised his eyebrow and said,
"Which thing is it that I'm missing?"
After looking at the page for a while, he couldn't understand anything.
He turned his face toward the sky and prayed from the heart:
("You are the creator of this whole world. Your every decision is right and better for us. I don't know, I'm feeling very restless.)
He placed his trembling hand over his heart. His heart was beating very fast.
(**"Ya Allah, I don't know why I feel this restlessness, but I feel like someone dear to me is in trouble—someone I love very much, and who is the most important to me. I pray to you, protect those who are mine, who are everything to me.
I've been thankful since childhood because this is my destiny and I cannot change it. And Ya Allah, this includes Your will too, and You have always made decisions better for me.
But there's one desire in a human heart—seeing her, I go speechless. Seeing her, I don't want to look away. Her voice is something I want to hear for the rest of my life.
I don't know if she is written in my fate or not, but I know—if she is not better for me, You will make her better for me.
And even if she's still not in my destiny, then I only have one prayer to You—Ya Allah, if I do not get her, at least don't take her away from me.
I can wait my whole life for her. But being away from her—I cannot accept that.
If I must suffer, I am ready—for her. Ya Allah, protect her. Ameen."**)
After making this whole prayer in his heart, he walked a bit further towards Hashim and asked,
"What do you think—will those thieves come back again? And what do you think that Mask Man did with those thieves? Did he kill them all?"
Hashim took a sip and, looking at him with a serious face, said,
"I think he must've killed all of them—because he is very cruel, dangerous, and scary."
Qasim, from under the mask, said,
"Huh, scary... that's why I wear the mask."
Hashim gave a confused expression and asked,
"Did you say something?"
Qasim turned his attention toward Hashim and replied,
"Oh no, no! I mean, nothing like that."
Hashim asked,
"Are you okay? Why are you saying everything double-double?"
Qasim got confused,
"What do you mean? I didn't get it."
Hashim laughed and said,
"Looks like you're missing your wife and kids, that's why you're sad."
Qasim laughed internally,
"Yeah, kids and wife... hahaha..."
He looked at Hashim and said,
"You really want to know about that?"
Hashim laughed loudly and said,
"No, no! I don't want to know anything!"
Qasim laughed and replied,
"Now you're the one saying double-double."
They both laughed behind, and then all became quiet in front.
Princess Maryam asked the Mask Man,
"Do you have a name? Or did you lose your name along with your face behind that mask?"
He thought in his heart,
"Aghhh, this girl asks too many questions..."
He took a deep breath, calmed himself, and said,
"My name is Younis. Now happy? Or do you also want to know where I was born, which city I grew up in, my father's name, my mother's name, and full family background?"
Princess Maryam widened her eyes happily and said,
"Oh wow! Then the journey will be easier—give the details!"
The Mask Man went silent. In his heart, he said,
"Ya Allah, just let this journey complete. I'll never do this kind of work again. What sin have I committed to deserve this suffering in the journey?"
Princess Maryam said,
"Everyone will stop here now. We are hungry! Prepare royal food for us!"
The Mask Man thought,
"Oh wow, Your Majesty. This isn't a palace—it's a desert! And she wants food here now! And we just had breakfast, and she's already hungry! Ya Allah save me..."
He replied,
"Princess, you'll have to wait. Let us find a safe place, then we can stop."
Princess said,
"No, I want food here only, otherwise I won't go further!"
The Mask Man thought,
"Just look at the tantrums—and the journey has just started! And already full-on tantrums..."
He said,
"Alright."
He called Qasim.
With a hand gesture, Qasim came closer to him. The Mask Man leaned slightly near Qasim's ear and said,
"Akbar, listen to me. The princess wants food right here. Otherwise, she won't go further. And this will waste our time. Do something, if you want to go back to your kids quickly with dinaars."
Qasim nodded his head,
"I'll do something..."
