Luna's POV
I sat quietly in my room — a rare moment of peace. Today, I was finally allowed to choose my own dress. No stubborn maids. No bossy teachers dragging me into layers of tradition. Just… me.
Still, freedom was only a dream with conditions.
Even in this private chamber, I felt watched. Not by eyes, but by expectations. A princess must act this way. Sit this way. Eat with grace. Walk with dignity.
But today, I didn't care.
I sat in front of the mirror, grinning to myself as I tried on different hairstyles. For the first time in a while, I felt… normal. Like the Luna before all this.
My fingers twisted and pinned my hair up again. Messy. Cute. Okay, maybe too cute. I undid it and tried something new. I couldn't help but giggle — today was special.
I was going to meet Sol again.
The Prince of Sylorine — graceful, polite, with those dreamy blue eyes that made my heart flutter like wings. I didn't know if it was love… but it felt different. Good different.
As I reached for another hairpin, something caught my eye.
Right above my chest, peeking through the fabric of my dress — a mark.
A soft symbol, glowing faintly. It looked like… a blue flower, blooming in delicate lines right over my heart.
I blinked. Gently, I pressed my fingers against it.
No pain. No warmth. Just… there.
Flashback___
That day — the day I touched the Tree of Fate — everything had changed.
The explosion of green light.
The sharp pain in my chest.
The blinding agony that followed.
I remember falling. My vision fading. The voices screaming my name. Then — nothing.
I woke up a day later, in the palace infirmary.
A different world awaited me.
They said I had been in a coma.
That I lost a frightening amount of blood. All from the glowing burst of energy that tore through my chest like fate itself had marked me.
And it had.
When I opened my eyes, I wasn't just Luna anymore.
I was Princess Luna of Lunareth.
The next in line to hold a rare, ancient power said to have vanished a thousand years ago.
Since then, everything had been strict. Proper. Royal.
And while I learned to smile, wave, speak perfectly, and dress like a queen, I still missed waking up at noon, laughing freely with my fairies, and sneaking sweet pastries when no one looked.
The mark — this blue flower — had stayed.
My teacher once told me it was the Symbol of Origin.
A sign that my power had awakened. That I was chosen.
But what it truly meant…
That was still a mystery.
I sighed softly, still staring at the faint blue flower mark on my chest. It looked so gentle—so delicate—but I knew the power it represented could shake kingdoms. I traced it once more, then let my hand fall.
Just then, the door creaked open.
"Lunaaaa!" a chorus of soft, sparkling voices sang in harmony.
I turned with a smile as my little fairies fluttered into the room, their wings shimmering like dewdrops in sunlight. Lira was leading, her cheeks glowing with excitement, followed by Vina, Sira, Floe, Myra, Sole, and Crysie. Each one of them carried something behind their backs, trying very hard not to grin too wide.
"We made you something special!" Vina said, unable to hold back anymore.
"It's a gift from all of us," Floe added, flying up to place something gently on my lap.
My breath caught.
It was a flower crown.
But not just any crown—this one was made of moonflowers, the rarest and most beautiful blossoms in all of Lunareth. Silver petals that shimmered like stardust. The scent… oh, the scent was heavenly, soft and calming, like the night breeze on a quiet hill.
"I love it," I whispered, almost tearing up. "It's perfect."
They all smiled, proud and twirling around in joy.
Lira carefully lifted the crown and placed it gently on my head. "Now you're ready, Princess."
"Ready to steal his heart," Crysie giggled.
I blushed instantly. "You all heard Kaelith yesterday, didn't you?"
"Every word," Sira smirked.
"He said you were drawing Sol and wrote 'my love' next to it!" Sole teased.
My hands flew to my cheeks, which were now burning hotter than the sun. "I-It was just a doodle!"
"You don't doodle like that unless your heart skips a beat," Myra chimed in with a wink.
I laughed nervously, trying to hide my red face. "Wish me luck?"
All seven fairies floated around me, forming a little circle, their hands held out like they were casting a spell of courage.
"In the name of Luna's love… may her heart bloom like the moonflower!" they said dramatically, and we all burst into giggles.
For a moment, it felt just like the old days.
I stood up, glancing at the mirror. The moonflower crown suited me more than any jeweled tiara ever had. And their support… it made everything feel easier.
"Alright," I said, brushing down my dress and taking a deep breath. "Let's hope Kaelith keeps yesterday's teasing to himself."
"Doubt it," Vina muttered under her breath.
We all laughed again.
Today, I was going to meet Sol.
And whether I was a princess or just plain Luna — my heart was ready.
Author's POV___
As Luna stepped out of her room, her heart light with excitement and a touch of nervousness, a maidservant approached her with a quick bow.
"Princess Luna," the maid said politely, "His Majesty is waiting for you in the royal hall."
Luna's smile faded slightly. "Father?" she asked softly.
"Yes, Your Highness. And… you may want to go quickly," the maid added with a knowing look.
Luna straightened her posture, adjusted the moonflower crown her fairies had lovingly placed on her head, and walked toward the royal hall. Her gown flowed elegantly behind her, and the heels of her shoes clicked softly on the polished marble floor.
The moment the grand golden doors opened, Luna paused.
Her father stood tall at the center of the room, his face glowing with pride. On his right was Kaelith, smirking in pure mischief, his arms folded and eyebrows raised as if he was still teasing her silently. On the left stood Auren, his expression unreadable, cold as always—but his eyes flickered with something curious.
But what caught Luna off guard were the two elegantly dressed figures beside them.
The King and Queen of Sylorine.
Luna quickly bowed, her heart beating faster.
"There she is," her father said with a proud smile. "Our daughter."
The Queen of Sylorine stepped forward, her silvery gown shimmering under the chandelier light. Her voice was gentle and warm. "So, this is the princess who captured our son's heart."
Luna blushed instantly. "It's an honor to meet you, Your Majesty."
"My dear," the queen continued with a kind smile, "Sol told us everything—about your meeting yesterday. He hasn't stopped talking about you since."
Kaelith stifled a laugh behind his hand, then leaned toward Auren and whispered loudly enough for Luna to hear, "Did you see her face? She's glowing red like the setting sun."
Luna shot him a warning look, but Kaelith only smirked wider.
The King of Sylorine finally spoke, his tone strong yet respectful. "We are honored that our son was able to meet such a graceful and brave young woman. And we are even more pleased to hear about the… drawing."
Luna's eyes widened. Her heart sank.
They know?!
She turned to Kaelith, who was now very obviously enjoying her horror.
"You told them?!" she whispered in disbelief.
Kaelith shrugged. "Not exactly. Father found your sketchbook when you dropped it. It accidentally opened on that page. I merely… confirmed the identity."
Luna groaned inwardly, covering her face with her hands.
The queen chuckled lightly. "No need to be shy, dear. It was a beautiful drawing. Sol is a lucky young man."
Her father stepped in smoothly. "Luna, the Queen and I have spoken, and we believe it would be a good idea for you and Prince Sol to spend more time together. In fact, he's waiting for you in the east garden right now."
Luna blinked. "R-right now?"
The Queen smiled and winked. "Yes. He insisted on seeing you today."
Kaelith grinned. "Don't worry, I'm sure he won't mind that you're still blushing."
Luna turned away quickly, muttering something that sounded suspiciously like, "Kaelith, I swear…"
She gave a final respectful bow to her guests, then turned and hurried off, clutching the edge of her dress.
Her heart was racing again—but this time, it wasn't because of nerves.
It was because of him.
Prince Sol.
Waiting for her.
In the garden.
The evening sky was painted in soft shades of lavender and gold as Luna stepped into the garden. The warm breeze carried the scent of blooming roses and moonflowers, and the soft chirping of nightbirds filled the air.
Unseen to Luna, her seven little fairies—Lira, Vina, Sira, Floe, Myra, Sole, and Crysie—were all huddled together behind a large rosebush, whispering and giggling.
"Shhh!" hissed Floe. "He's already here!"
"Eeeek, look! He's smiling at her!" Sira whispered, bouncing lightly.
In the center of the garden stood Prince Sol, dressed in royal blue, his hair slightly tousled by the wind and his piercing blue eyes locked on Luna. When he saw her, a gentle smile spread across his lips.
"You look breathtaking, Luna," he said, walking toward her slowly.
Luna lowered her eyes, her hands nervously clasped. "Thank you, Your Highness…"
Sol chuckled and reached for her hand. "Sol. Just Sol."
He took her delicate hand and pressed a soft kiss to her knuckles. That was all it took—Luna's cheeks flared up instantly.
Sol laughed quietly. "Still so shy… it's adorable."
Luna tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying to stay composed.
Sol leaned slightly closer. "I heard… you drew me."
Luna's eyes widened. "W-What? Oh. That—um…" She looked away, blushing deeper. "I just… your eyes were so beautiful. I had to try and capture them. That's all."
She gave him a shy smile, her lashes fluttering as she looked down.
Sol's voice dropped to a gentle murmur. "Your words are sweet… but I think your lips are even more beautiful than my eyes."
Luna's head shot up, eyes wide in surprise.
"My… lips?"
Sol smiled, his gaze never leaving hers. "Yes. They make it very hard not to kiss you again."
Luna's heart pounded as her lips parted slightly in shock. Her two cheeks turned red like ripe tomatoes.
And then… Sol leaned in slowly.
Their lips met in a soft, lingering kiss under the twilight sky.
Behind the bush—
"OH MY FAIRY LIGHTS!" gasped Crysie.
"They kissed! They really kissed!!" whispered Vina, jumping up and down.
Sole twirled midair. "We should throw flower petals on them!"
"No! Don't—" hissed Lira, but it was too late.
The fairies, overcome with excitement, danced too hard.
CRACK!
Sole stumbled out of the bush and fell flat onto the garden path.
Luna gasped, pulling away from Sol quickly.
Her eyes darted to the bush—where seven tiny glowing faces stared at her, wide-eyed.
"Oh no…" she whispered.
She turned bright red again, covered her face, and with a tiny yelp—ran.
"Luna!" Sol called gently, a smile playing on his lips.
From behind him, the fairies popped their heads out one by one like guilty children.
"Well," said Myra sheepishly, "at least now we know she really likes him."
