Acnos' POV
Currently sitting at lunch, on the table opposite of Lutz.
This guy is interesting. First, he gets involved with the assassin guild so easily, and then he manages to catch the attention of Nya van Kano—also known as the Heritage of Gold, since her father owns more gold depots than anyone in the entire Satoko Kingdom besides the royal family. But what I like most is how he doesn't care at all about her feelings.
Observing him might turn out to be a smart move, especially since I sit right next to him in class. Our next subject is Magic Combat, which I'll also be taking with him.If I want to become a shadow, this path is already a wise decision on its own.
Suddenly, a system message appeared in front of me:
You have leveled up.Please assign your five points.
I put all of them into Agility. It's now at level 25.
Acting like an assassin will help me achieve my goal. And following Lutz and Yukinotard to that meeting tonight might help me join the guild.Still, before that, I need to attend the Magic Combat class—luckily, it takes place in our usual classroom since everyone in our group chose it.
I sat down, watching Lutz's movements. There was nothing good or bad about them—just a normal person going through life, doing what he wants.
When Lutz sat down, I noticed Nya's eyes still following him.Her entire expression was full of longing—like she wanted to hug him, maybe even kiss him—despite knowing nothing about him.If I were in Lutz's position, I'd do the same: ignore her and avoid conversation.
The teacher from our first class entered again and greeted us.She sat down, started writing on the board, and gave a quick overview of the types of magic.
Apparently, there are five types:
Elemental Magic – Based on fire, water, earth, and air.
Mysticisms – Includes illusion, foresight, and psychology magic.
Support Magic – Only for those who selected it as a subject.
Forbidden Magic – Necromancy.
Demon/Angel Magic – "It will be a theme at this school," she said, "but only after you graduate."
After the introduction, she gave us quite a bit of work for the remaining 50 minutes of class. We had to discuss in groups of three which type of magic we thought would be the hardest to learn.
Since I sat at the back, I ended up in a group with Lutz and Nya—which turned out to be a bad decision.Nya used the opportunity to get closer to him.
I have to say, I hate this type of girl. Not just because they live off attraction—but because they always ruin my focus.Every time I'm trying to learn, there's someone like her.
Still, the short conversation I had with Lutz wasn't bad.We came to this conclusion:
"It depends on whether your path fits the type of magic or not."
