Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Customers Come to Your Door

---

What!!

Everyone's eyes turned to Ye Bai.

Some students looked on with schadenfreude, others with curiosity, while some were simply speechless.

"Ye Bai, right? I remember you were always top of the class each semester, but don't underestimate the Youlin Cup question bank. There are lots of tricks hidden in it."

"The questions and materials I've given out are all key content, and many of them aren't found in textbooks."

Xie Yuan had a favorable impression of Ye Bai, who consistently ranked first. He tried to persuade him kindly: "Go over the material carefully and take the test again."

"Director Xie, you should have seen my profile."

Material? Why did Ye Bai suddenly bring that up? Was there something special about him?

After all, the director wasn't Ye Bai's homeroom teacher, so he naturally didn't know what talent Ye Bai had awakened.

He couldn't check Ye Bai's information publicly—it would make him appear unprofessional.

Director Xie nodded slightly to maintain appearances, but he was confused inwardly.

Since Ye Bai insisted so strongly, the best option was to let him hit a wall and retreat. Then he could reprimand Ye Bai for being arrogant.

A textbook case of a perfect student PUA (psychological manipulation) strategy.

Then, he got an idea.

"You don't mind if I project the questions so everyone can see your strength, do you?"

Ye Bai nodded. "Director, if I pass the assessment, I don't have to attend your class, right?"

He confirmed again.

"Yes. You must fully understand the questions to pass. If you succeed, you're exempt from the class," the director said with a smile.

He double-checked with himself—he really couldn't lose his temper here.

"Great. In that case, I'm relieved."

The Youlin Cup exam consisted of all multiple-choice questions:

30 single-choice

30 multiple-choice

40 uncertain-choice questions

Each worth one point, totaling 100 points.

Before the audience could even read the first question, Ye Bai had already moved to the second.

His speed increased rapidly, his fingers flying like spinning flowers.

Director Xie froze. Was Ye Bai messing with him?

The question bank included memory-based problems, but also a significant number of calculation-based ones.

Choosing answers in under a second? Impossible. Even he had to think carefully on some of them.

Director Xie sighed heavily and looked at Ye Bai with changed eyes.

Ye Bai was playing games—when it was over, he'd have to scold him publicly.

Director Xie closed his eyes, clearly tired, his expression bleak.

In a flash, Ye Bai finished the exam.

The students erupted in shock—the screen displayed a perfect score of 100.

"That's fake—he must have memorized the answers!" one student muttered.

"Haha, impossible. No way," another said in disbelief.

"There's nothing hard about it. His awakened talent is photographic memory."

"That explains it. Exams mean nothing to him."

Those who knew about Ye Bai's abilities understood how game-breaking his talent was in exams.

At this moment, Director Xie opened his eyes. Not bothering to check the score, he assumed Ye Bai had failed.

"Ye Bai, you shouldn't be arrogant. Study well before attempting assessments."

Xie Yuan waved for him to step down.

But Ye Bai remained motionless. "Teacher, I passed the assessment."

Ye Bai stated firmly.

Director Xie opened his eyes, irritated. He'd already given Ye Bai a chance, but he was still being stubborn. He decided to check the score and reprimand him accordingly.

Unexpectedly, the screen showed 100 points.

What?!

Xie Yuan was so shocked, he could've swallowed a salted duck egg.

He hurriedly flipped through the student records and pulled out Ye Bai's file.

Upon seeing the "photographic memory" talent, everything made sense.

He was deeply ashamed of what he had just done.

Ye Bai had reminded him multiple times, but he hadn't taken it seriously—and now he had to slap himself in the face.

"I understand, Director Xie." Ye Bai clasped his fists respectfully, then walked out leisurely.

He had to return to the nursery. If not, he'd be sleeping on the floor tonight.

---

Back at the breeding house, Ye Bai was surprised to see that Da Hui had cleaned all three floors spotless on his own.

The glass windows gleamed, and everything was neat and tidy.

The first floor served as the storefront,

the second as a laboratory,

and the third as the living quarters.

The pet beasts were celebrating joyfully. It was lively and warm.

At that moment, a Phantom Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of the nursery.

A bodyguard rolled out a red carpet and opened the car door.

A blonde girl holding a stuffed bunny doll stepped out.

She wore a high-end white dress and exquisite jewelry. Her long hair was tied into a bun, showing off her fair neck. Her long legs were hidden beneath the dress, and her sandals revealed diamond-studded toes.

The clean and elegant storefront immediately caught her attention. Her large blue eyes sparkled as she stared at Da Hui's plush fur.

I want to touch it. I want to touch it.

Her gaze was fixed entirely on Da Hui.

The butler noticed her fascination and realized something.

He stepped forward and knocked on the door. "Pardon our intrusion. Our Miss Sophia has taken a liking to the Lightning Cat held by your Gray Night Totoro. May we ask you to part with it?"

Gray Night Totoro!!

Ye Bai!!

Miss Sophia, the blonde noble lady!!

The Gray Night Totoro held the Lightning Cat tightly, clearly unwilling to let go.

Ye Bai patted Da Hui on the shoulder. "Dahui, let go. The Lightning Cat is still young and needs its pet master."

"If you really like it, it can always visit the nursery."

Da Hui looked extremely reluctant, like a child forced to give away a beloved toy.

But Ye Bai was right. The Lightning Cat was still a cub and needed to bond with a pet master to reach its full potential.

Reluctantly, Da Hui handed it over to Miss Sophia, glancing back at it step by step with sorrowful eyes.

The Lightning Cat meowed as it nestled into Sophia's arms.

It, too, was reluctant to part from Da Hui.

"Um… can I come here often?" Sophia asked, blushing as everyone looked at her.

"I mean… when Lightning Cat misses its friend."
