Chapter 6 - How Did I Do?

Captain America announced his name and then cautiously glanced at Heisenberg's face.

He seemed to be expecting—anticipating—what kind of shocked expression Heisenberg might reveal.

Unfortunately…

Heisenberg simply nodded and gave Captain America's hand a firm shake before letting go.

"Steve Rogers, right? Pleasure to meet you."

After the casual greeting, Heisenberg immediately released his grip, which made the Captain exhale in relief.

When he first woke up, he had thought his name would be immortal. But now, it seemed…

The shelf life of "Captain America" hadn't even lasted seventy years.

Still, maybe that was for the best. After sleeping for seventy years, perhaps he could finally find a life of his own.

The first half of his life had been almost entirely dedicated to his country. At the moment of his final decision, he had even been prepared to give his life back to the nation and the world that had raised him.

But now, the world was at peace. Maybe Captain America really didn't need to appear anymore.

As these thoughts crossed his mind, his expression grew calmer. In just five or six seconds, he seemed to age seven or eight years, his demeanor taking on a serene and tranquil quality.

"Alright, now that we're acquainted, what brings you here? Looking for a gym buddy?" Captain America asked casually.

Nick Fury quickly shook his head.

"Of course not. It's just that our friend here needs a… discreet training facility."

"Huh?"

Captain America blinked, then scrutinized Heisenberg up and down.

"Someone like me? So even training has to be classified now?"

"Like you???"

Hearing the question, Nick Fury fell silent for a moment before shaking his head again.

"With all due respect, Captain Rogers, the gap between you and our friend here is… considerable."

With that, Fury tentatively reached out to pat Heisenberg's arm. Heisenberg didn't stop him—he didn't mind a little familiarity, especially since Fury was cooperating.

So, Nick Fury successfully patted Heisenberg's arm and said,

"This underground training facility has almost every piece of equipment you could need. You can demonstrate your abilities here. No need to worry about leaks—everyone present is among S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most tight-lipped."

"Mhm. Then I'll just play around a bit."

Heisenberg gave a noncommittal nod and walked over to the punching bag Captain America had been using earlier.

He assumed a ready stance, then turned to the three of them and said,

"I'm not in the mood to perform like some circus monkey, so I'll just show you one punch."

BOOM!

Heisenberg's fist shot forward.

CRACK!

The punch tore through the air, creating a sonic boom that echoed through the underground chamber.

Before the others could even process their shock, Heisenberg's fist had already connected with the punching bag.

The heavy bag was obliterated instantly, disintegrating into dust within half a meter of impact.

But the force didn't stop there.

The terrifying energy carried the shattered remnants of the bag—every grain of sand and speck of dust—forward like a storm sweeping across a plain or a landslide engulfing a village.

The violent shockwave, along with the debris, slammed into the barbells behind the bag.

The barbells shattered, their fragments joining the destruction as they annihilated the treadmills and resistance machines further back.

More and more equipment was reduced to rubble in an instant, the expanding wave of destruction spreading outward.

Even the floor and ceiling of the training facility, over twenty meters away, suffered irreparable damage.

It was as if a giant hand had stirred a still pond—or as if God had taken a spray can and painted a scene of devastation.

The entire training facility looked like it had been struck by an expanding ripple, radiating outward from Heisenberg at a thirteen-degree angle.

For over seventeen hundred meters in that direction, nothing remained intact.

It took over half a minute for the deafening roar of the punch to fade.

The dust took another five minutes to finally settle.

With that single strike, Heisenberg had carved a canyon into the earth.

Silence.

Absolute, suffocating silence.

Behind Heisenberg, in the half of the training facility that had miraculously survived, Maria Hill's legs gave out, and she collapsed to the floor.

Under Nick Fury's eyepatch, his hidden mechanical eye flickered with activity, unable to resist recording the earth-shattering spectacle.

As for Captain America…

He kept rubbing his head, convinced he was still dreaming.

Heisenberg stood there calmly, waiting for one of them to speak. But as the silence stretched on, he grew impatient and finally addressed Nick Fury himself.

"So… how did I do?"

"...Eye-opening."

"Good. I was worried my little display wouldn't impress you."

Seeing Fury still frozen in shock, Heisenberg glanced upward toward the surface and added,

"Sounds like alarms are going off in all your buildings up there. They must think it's an earthquake."

"Oh, and I think I wrecked the elevator. As compensation, I'll make a temporary exit for you."

With that, Heisenberg walked a dozen steps away from the trio, then tilted his head back.

The moment he did, Nick Fury clearly saw Heisenberg's eyes ignite with a brilliant crimson glow.

Though the color resembled sunlight, Fury couldn't shake the feeling that it was the eternal fire of hell itself.

The intense red light, accompanied by what Fury imagined was the scent of sulfur, shot upward from Heisenberg's eyes in a concentrated beam.

The heat vision pierced through eight hundred meters of solid earth in an instant.

A second later, the entire city of New York witnessed a towering pillar of red light erupting into the sky.

In the DC universe, General Zod had mastered heat vision after just minutes of fighting Superman.

For Heisenberg, who had already been sunbathing for hours, it was child's play.

He didn't even need to adjust his aim—he simply maintained the beam at a fixed angle.

Within seconds, the surrounding rock and soil within a fifty-centimeter radius melted into superheated lava.

The molten slag dripped downward, submerging Heisenberg in a pool of liquid fire.

The air filled with the smell of burning fabric.

Once the makeshift tunnel was wide enough, Heisenberg deactivated his heat vision and floated out of the lava, completely naked.

He hovered back to the trio, utterly unfazed.

Hill was too stunned to even cover her eyes, but Heisenberg didn't mind the exposure—really, he didn't.

He grinned shamelessly at them before extending a hand toward Captain America.

"Hey, buddy. Mind lending me some pants? This isn't exactly the look I want when flying around."

"Uh… sure."

Without hesitation, Captain America stripped off his jeans and handed them over.

But the moment the fabric touched Heisenberg's fingers, it burst into flames.

His body was still radiating intense heat.

Watching the pants turn to ash in his hands, Heisenberg scratched his head sheepishly.

"Ah… right."

He exhaled gently, directing his freeze breath over his own body.

The icy wind rapidly cooled his skin, and by the time he finished, the trio was shivering violently.

A thick layer of frost now coated the ground around him.

Satisfied, Heisenberg turned to Nick Fury and held out his hand.

"Well, Cap's pants are a lost cause. How about yours?"

"..."

Fury's face twisted into something resembling a wilted black dahlia.

Seeing his expression, Heisenberg shrugged.

"What, you want me to wear Hill's pants instead?"

"...Just give me a second."

Grudgingly, Nick Fury began unbuckling his belt.

Meanwhile, Maria Hill discreetly rolled her eyes and took several steps away from the two men.

About a minute later, Heisenberg was wearing Fury's 450-gram bulletproof dress pants.

He adjusted the waistband uncomfortably.

"Sorry, they're a bit… tight in the crotch."

The comment made Fury instinctively glance downward.

The damage to his pride was minimal, but the humiliation was immeasurable.

Luckily, Heisenberg didn't dwell on the issue.

With a final smirk, he rocketed into the sky, vanishing in a shower of debris.

...

Half an hour later, S.H.I.E.L.D. rescue teams finally lowered ropes eight hundred meters into the ruined facility.

The agents rappelled down swiftly, rushing into the demolished training area—

Only to immediately regret their life choices.

What had they done to deserve this?

Why did they have to be the ones to discover their director and Captain America's… secret?

And the weirdest part—

Why was Commander Hill here with them?!

On the other side of the room, two men in white briefs stared blankly at the rescue team.

It wasn't until two quick-thinking agents handed over their own pants that the tension eased.

Nick Fury grabbed a rope, letting the surface team haul him upward.

As he ascended, his mood sank.

The rescue team consisted of his most trusted agents—the same ones who had personally excavated Captain America.

Because, of course, the Captain's revival was still classified.

And now…

Fury clenched his jaw.

His reputation among his inner circle was officially ruined.

...

Meanwhile, atop the Triskelion—S.H.I.E.L.D.'s New York headquarters—

Heisenberg lounged on a sofa, basking lazily in the sunlight.

A few feet away, another sofa held a blonde girl who looked no older than sixteen, her face doll-like and delicate.

She stretched like a contented cat, sighing happily.

"Wow, I never knew sunbathing could feel this good!"

"Told you."

Heisenberg turned his head slightly to look at her.

"You covert types should get out more. Nothing beats soaking up some sun."

"Yeah, yeah. Especially for a Kryptonian like you, right? Sunlight doesn't just give you a tan—it makes you stronger."

The girl's casual remark caught Heisenberg off guard.

He hesitated before asking,

"Did you… guess that?"

"Pfft."

She smirked, then reached into the large pocket of her hoodie.

A second later, she tossed a comic book at him.

Heisenberg caught it, already knowing what it was before he even looked.

The iconic "S" shield on the cover was unmistakable.

The comic's protagonist was none other than his descendant, Kal-El.

Only then did Heisenberg remember—

In the DC universe, Marvel Comics and Spider-Man existed.

And in the Marvel universe…

DC Comics and Superman were just as real.
