Business stealing scum! Seth cursed in his mind. Inwardly he was seething with rage, but he maintained an air of composure outside.
"I have two Sequence 9 potions that I believe you might find appealing," Alger spoke with indifference.
Audrey turned her attention to him as she looked at him with curiosity. Alger soon detailed the two potions in his possession.
The first was called Sailor, which granted excellent balance and agility in the water. It allowed one to manifest illusory fish scales as protection and gain a minor boost in strength. The second of the two was called Spectator.
It provided one with keen observational skills to discern one's thoughts from simple gestures, body movement and unconscious expression. It also allowed one to gain superior vision.
Alger soon added, "Remember whether at an extravagant banquet or a bustling street, a spectator only remains a spectator."
His advice also slightly aligned with Seth's own thoughts of the Acting Method. To advance, one must portray and embody the potions namesake as a way to bypass the potions security to get better feedback.
Similar to how Seth stained his hands with blood as he tried to embody an Assassin while also inciting others to commit several heinous crimes as an Instigator. Right now, he might be the most wanted man in Tingen, it was a good thing that he always stayed a step ahead of the official Beyonders.
Audrey politely waited for Alger to finish as she excitedly asked, "What do I need to do to exchange the Spectator potion?"
Audrey then turned to Seth with an apologetic expression, it was indistinct to the face of his previous supervisor before he fired him. "I'm sorry Mister, but I've fallen in love with the Spectator potion."
Seth quietly waved it off, but he was seething inside. He swore vengeance against the future Hanged Man, as he quietly rested in his seat.
Alger soon stated his price, "100 millilitres of Ghost Shark Blood, delivered to the Warrior and Sea Bar at Pelican Street. It's in the White Rose Borough of Pritz Harbour m, tell the boss—William it's what the Captain wants."
Audrey quietly memorised the instructions before she asked an obvious question, "How do I trust that the potion formula you provided is true and safe to consume."
"You could ask that mysterious Lord to bear witness to your trade, in this way I'm sure both of you will feel safe," Seth chimed in
Audrey turned to the mysterious figure and asked, "Your Excellence, please bear witness to our trade," Audrey and Alger bowed as she asked the question.
Following suit, Seth bowed before asking a question laying in his mind, "Honourable Sir, how shall we address you?"
'His' fingers lightly tapped the long table as 'He' thought for a few minutes. The castle descended into an unnatural silence, before 'He' spoke, "You can address me as, The Fool"
The Fool, soon gestured for them to sit as Seth returned to his high backed chair, Audrey soon revisited her previous trade and asked again, "Mr. Fool, please bear witness to our trade."
"A small matter…. you may proceed." He replied as he tapped at the archaic long table.
"Since you are going to be a Beyonder now, I shall share a way for you to digest the potion faster. Normally the digestion of a Sequence 9 potion takes 3 years, but with this method it will only take half a year.
"I shall share it in the next gathering…. if there is one"
Seth's voice quietly trailed off, as all three of them looked at Mr. Fool. Audrey seemed to get the hint as she turned to Mr. Fool and asked with a bit of hesitation, "Mr. Fool, would you mind making such attempts in the future?"
Alger nodded at her words as he continued, "Mr. Fool don't you find such gatherings interesting? We come from different backgrounds, channels and associations. We are each connected to a different channel, if we come together and cooperate, the result might be unimaginable."
Seth remained silent, as he neither added on to their sentence or denied it. He was a bit fearful of being in such close proximity with a Divine Being, as he feared his identity might be exposed if it already isn't. But the benefits of being a part of a gathering where a Deity was personally present might also produce some wonderful effects.
So in the end he stayed neutral, "Mr. Fool, I find this a good suggestion, as long as this Gathering becomes regular. You could delegate some of your more 'inconvenient' tasks to us, as long as it's within our capabilities we'll strive to achieve it!" Audrey said with a bit of jolliness
Audrey and Alger looked nervously at Mr. Fool, awaiting his approval to start such a Gathering.
His right hand began to tap at the mosaic table as he seemed to be in deep thought. The fog fluctuated, displaying its owner's emotions. Soon the tapping stopped
"I'm a person who likes fair and equivalent exchanges, your help won't go unrewarded.
"Every Monday at three in the afternoon, try your best to be alone. After I make a few more attempts and figure out certain things, perhaps you can apply for a leave of absence ahead of time. You will no longer need to worry about being in inappropriate situations."
Seth's eyebrows raised as he felt a bit of awe and happiness swell up in his chest. Without leaving space, Audrey instantly spoke, Then, shall we give ourselves call signs? After all, we can't use our real names for conversation."
Mr. Fool nodded and appreciated her idea
Audrey continued without hesitation, "You are Mr. Fool which is derived from tarot cards. Then, as a fixed, long-term, and secretive 'Gathering,' we should be uniform in our designations. Yes, I'll also choose one from the tarot cards."
Her tone slowly turned joyous.
"I've decided. My designation shall be 'Justice!'
Isn't that a bit too fast? Seth couldn't help but comment in his mind as his mouth subconsciously twitched.
But he was a bit surprised at the unfamiliar term, as he rushed to recall it. If he remembered right, The Fool wasn't just a normal term but one of the 22 Major Arcana, numbered 0.
It was created less than 200 years back, by one of the most legendary figures of the Fifth Epoch—Roselle Gustav, a man who created countless such inventions.
The blue haired man also finalised his decision and picked the codename: Hanged Man, the only person who was left to pick was Seth himself.
"The Hierophant," Seth answered hastily.
"Alright, then we can be considered as the founding members of the Tarot Club!" Audrey blurred out happily before realising that she wasn't the master of this palace and fearfully turned to Mr. Fool, "Is that alright, Mr. Fool?"
"You can decide such trivial matters by yourself," He replied with indifference.
The overjoyed Miss Justice began discussing the secret Tarot Cards created by Emperor Roselle with Mr. Hanged Man. Seth listened quietly to their conversation, but he slowly lost interest.
Just then he felt Mr. Fools gaze on him for a second which unconsciously caused his body to tighten up. Before Mr. Fool slowly announced, "That will be all for today's gathering."
The trio quickly stood up and gave a graceful bow, "By your will!"
