Seth felt the red light swallow him like water in the sea, as his projection in the grey fog broke. The crimson glow of his body vanished as he found himself back in the real world.
Almost immediately the pocket watch he carried shattered into pieces, The reason for my entry into that castle must've been due to that. I wonder if all the other members had something similar.
The pocket watch functioned like a key, and those red stars that I saw in the distance might've been the lock, or it might just be the castle itself. But if it is the red stars, the second that Mr. Fool touched those red stars, and the people who corresponded to the red stars had the key.
They would theoretically be able to enter the mysterious place, but if the castle was the lock, then…. I have no theories regarding that. But this might mean that there might be more members in the Tarot Club in the future.
Seth's eyes wandered to his hand, where a hexagonal crystal-like snowflake was present. It slowly emerged from his palm before it got absorbed by his flesh, seemingly vanishing.
My entry into that castle broke the pocket watch, also the key. Which means this snowflake must contain a bit of Mr. Fools aura, allowing him to transport us to that place.
That must mean that, the pocket watch also contained Mr. Fools aura. If memory serves, that pocket watch had been in my family for generations. Dating back to the Iron Age, according to my father, an ancestor of mine found it in an excavation of a Tudor Ruin.
But why would Mr. Fool willingly inject a random item, with his aura. Unless he wanted to establish a gathering!
Thinking of this, Seth couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat, he forcefully calmed himself before casting his eyes down to the plastic bag which contained all his materials, Right now, I shouldn't worry about this, I don't have the power to think of this too. My first priority should be becoming a Beyonder. Once I reach a high enough Sequence, would I have the ability to ponder such matters.
Surprisingly during the period when he was in the grey fog. No one had stolen his bag, he inwardly thanked the Gods, he was low on money and if he lost these materials. It would take a bit of time before he recuperated enough to buy the materials.
"...."
To prepare a potion, one must add the auxiliary ingredients first, their amount can vary but it shouldn't deviatate too much from the original. After adding the auxiliary materials, one must add the main ingredients.
If their amount varies even a bit, the potion would turn poisonous and might make you lose control. It should be as exact as specified, Seth silently recalled Sharon's teachings in his mind.
He quickly added all the auxiliary ingredients required. First is 100 millilitres of Bamboo Wine, he pulled out the cork of the glass bottle as he dumped exactly 100 millilitres in the cauldron.
The next was 3 grams of a Chimpanzees Ear Wax, suppressing his urge to puke, Seth quickly unscrewed the cap and pulled out 3 grams with a wooden stick.
In an instant a fragrant smell was emitted from the cauldron, breathing it in Seth felt he was back in his old world, with all his dead comrades still alive.
Seth quickly snapped out of it, before he pinched his gabella to calm down. He then took out the bottle where the squid ink was present before pouring it into the cauldron.
He then opened a black plastic container and took out 3 strands of White Dragon Monkey Hair, in an instant the potion boiled white before it settled down into an unnatural purple. The potion presented some ghastly faces, as though it was consuming souls.
He then opened another box and added 4 tooths of a Black Bear King. As the material came in contact with the boiling potion an illusory white mist was spewed from the cauldron before it rescinded back.
Seth took an unconscious step back as he glared at the potion, This is it, as long as I consume that. I'll be able to become extraordinary and save my world.
But a few pangs of doubt echoed in his mind, Is this what I want? I've done so much, I know nothing other than fighting. I have gone through a lot, I deserve some peace! I don't want to take such responsibility!
Seth just wanted to rest, he didn't want to be a hero, a saviour or something else entirely. He just wanted to rest for a bit, he knew it was selfish, he knew his friends might be risking their lives to achieve freedom.
But he didn't care
He deserved something, it wasn't his fault that the world turned to shit, it wasn't his fault that the Gods turned evil, it wasn't his fault that the Sun God died, it wasn't his fault that he was picked to be some hero that he didn't want to be.
It was everyone else's fault
It was their fault for being weak, it was their fault for not being chosen, it was their fault for fighting, it was their fault for having hope, it was their fault for believing, it was their fault for losing, it was their fault for breathing, it was their fault for sleeping, it was their fault for waking up, it was their fault for eating, it was their fault for trusting me, it was their fault for assuming I'm good, it was their fault for thinking I wouldn't desire to be free, it was their fault for thinking I cared, it was their fault for being born, it was their fault for being enslaved, it was their fault for trusting the gods, it was their fault for believing in hard work, it was their fault for believing they could win, it was their fault for thinking everything will work out, it was their their fault for believing in the Sun God, it was their fault for desiring freedom, it was their fault for wearing shoes instead of sandals, it was their fault for wearing sandals instead of shoes, it was their fault for drinking juice instead of coffee, it was their fault for breathing through their nose instead of their mouth, it's their fault for trusting their friends.
Seth gave a happy smile, an exaggerated smile, a ridiculous smile as he muttered
"It's not my fault."
But then, memories of his friends saving him, helping him, assisting him, flashed in his mind. Could he really abandon them?
He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth, No I can't! I'm going to save them, and after that only will I rest. They helped me numerous times, it's my time to return the favour
Seth continued repeating it in his mind as he tried to convince himself of that fact. He took a brave step to the potion as he closed his eyes, his hand tightly gripped the beaker and in one small shoot, he gulped it all down.
