Jurassic World- Control Room
Claire and the others nervously watched the live feed from the second Asset Containment Team.
"Beep!!" "Beep!!" "Beep!!"
The familiar, chilling sound echoed again—each beep marking the loss of another team member.
On-screen, the fearsome Indominus Rex reappeared like a phantom, sending a wave of dread through the room.
Claire's face went pale.
"He can hide from radar?!"
"I'm not imagining this—he's... bigger than before!"
"Are those horns? And spikes on his tail? Oh my God... is he still evolving?"
No one could believe what they were seeing.
This wasn't just a dinosaur anymore—it defied all logic, all science.
Their entire worldview was being shattered by this impossible creature.
It wasn't just the unnatural abilities; they kept changing, growing, without warning.
"Open fire! Now!!"
Back in the forested valley, the team captain, though shocked, snapped to action and barked out the command.
"Thump, thump, thump—!!"
The soldiers in the lead off-road vehicle raised their submachine guns and assault rifles, unleashing a storm of bullets.
Muzzles flared, sending a metal barrage hurtling toward the Indominus Rex.
Normally, even something as massive as a dinosaur would still be made of flesh and blood, vulnerable to the firepower of modern weapons.
But what happened next left them all speechless.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The bullets struck the creature's body with the sound of metal against metal.
Sparks flew with every impact.
It was like shooting at a tank, not a living creature.
"What the hell?!"
None of them had ever seen anything like it.
The bullets bounced off as if the creature's hide was made of armor.
Not a scratch. Not a drop of blood.
This wasn't an animal. This was a monster in dinosaur form.
'That's it? You guys trying to tickle me?'
Jack didn't flinch. He didn't even slow down. Ignoring the barrage of gunfire, he charged straight toward the off-road vehicle, his massive frame crushing trees like twigs in his path.
"Drive! Go! GO!!"
The captain shouted as the driver slammed the accelerator, the engine roaring to life in a desperate attempt to escape the nightmare chasing them.
But Jack was faster—much faster. His huge strides covered seven or eight meters at a time.
With each powerful push from his muscular hind legs, he gained ground rapidly, moving with terrifying speed and precision.
The distance between predator and prey closed with every heartbeat.
"Bang!!"
The captain still didn't want to believe it. Gritting his teeth, he raised a sniper rifle, aimed at Jack's head, and pulled the trigger.
With a blinding flash, the sniper round tore through the air and struck its target in an instant.
"Click!!"
The high-caliber round—powerful enough to pierce 20mm of steel at close range—lodged itself in the thick scales on Jack's head.
It left only a shallow crater, with a trickle of blood seeping from the surface.
'Not bad. At least I scratched him.'
"ROAR—!!"
The next second, Jack was upon them.
"Jump out of the car!"
The black captain shouted. Without hesitation, he threw open the door and dove out.
The others weren't so fast.
In the split second they hesitated, Jack unleashed a devastating kick that sent the entire off-road vehicle flying.
The vehicle twisted mid-air, spun 180 degrees, and crashed on its roof with a sickening thud.
The frame crumpled under the force.
Most of the team inside were knocked unconscious—those who hadn't jumped were now out of commission.
Meanwhile, the captain, who had rolled clear, tumbled violently across the ground.
Bones possibly fractured, he forced himself upright, relying solely on grit and adrenaline.
But as he lifted his head, he found himself face-to-face with a nightmare.
A reptilian snout, several times larger than his head, hovered inches away.
Its maw curled into what looked like a twisted grin—bloody fangs bared in a mockery of a smile.
Not the gentle smirk of a Mona Lisa, but the cruel grin of a devil.
"Aaaaahhh!!!"
The captain screamed, his sanity slipping.
A moment later, the scream was cut off.
Only half his body hit the ground.
Jack turned his attention back to the overturned vehicle. He could sense survivors.
Without a second thought, he brought his foot down, crushing the wreckage—and the humans beneath it—as casually as one might squash insects.
The second asset containment team... was gone.
"Beep!!""Beep!!""Beep!!"
----------
Back in the control room of Jurassic World, silence fell.
Claire and the others stared at the screen as the vital signs of every team member vanished one by one.
Both asset control teams had been wiped out.
At this point, sending more personnel would be futile.
The male Indominus Rex wasn't just a rogue dinosaur—it was something far worse.
No conventional weaponry they had was capable of stopping it.
In a park as massive as Jurassic World, the monster was free to roam.
If it reached the central core, everyone inside would become prey.
Now, their only hope rested with Masrani—and the helicopter he'd chosen to pilot himself.
Everything depended on this one final move.
Kill notifications continued to update on the panel, and Jack earned over 30 gene points from the battle.
Still, the payoff for hunting humans felt disappointingly low.
So few points—barely enough to fill the gap between his teeth.
"Roar!!"
Jack called out to Gray, who had been hiding nearby, only after the fight ended.
Unlike Jack, Gray couldn't afford to take a bullet.
One good hit could be fatal. That's why he told her to stay out of sight during the battle.
"Roar~~"
Gray hurried over to Jack's side, her eyes scanning him with concern.
She checked for injuries until she spotted the bullet embedded in the scales on his head.
With a low rumble, she asked him to lower his head.
Jack obliged, and Gray gently pried the bullet out with her claws, then leaned in to softly lick the wound.
"Alright, alright, I'm fine. It's just a little scratch."
Jack couldn't help but chuckle.
The sniper round hadn't done much damage, but Gray's tongue had left behind more saliva than the bullet had drawn blood.
Still, he could feel her concern.
Animals might not express emotion the same way humans do, but theirs came without pretense—raw, simple, and sincere.
No manipulation. No lies. Just pure instinct and care.
"Buzz buzz—!!"
Suddenly, Jack picked up the unmistakable sound of helicopter rotors slicing through the air above.
Looking up, he spotted a chopper heading directly toward them.
It had clearly locked onto their position.
The side hatch was open, revealing an M134 heavy machine gun, its long ammo belt ready to spit death from above.
The aircraft hovered with aggressive confidence, looming like a predator in the sky.
"Damn it!"
Jack's expression darkened. He immediately growled at Gray, telling her to retreat.
He'd handle the helicopter.
"Roar~~"
Gray hesitated. She didn't want Jack to face the danger alone.
But under his forceful roar, she finally turned and bolted into the dense cover of the valley forest.
Jack took off in the opposite direction, sprinting at full speed.
His destination was the Pterosaur Dome at the valley's far end—several hundred meters away.
At the moment, he had no way to fight back against an airborne enemy.
He'd be a sitting target if he stayed out in the open.
Fine. If I can't shoot you down myself... don't blame me for calling in reinforcements.
