Chapter 6 - Do we really need a male alpha? 1

Her body shivered but she was not cold nor hot. Her mind buzzed as multiple sensations flowed up and down her body. Nothing registered it was like she was a computer and she had overloaded.

During these times she stayed locked in her room with a full guard outside her door and windows. She could not trust males or herself.

The sensations flowed through her again. She almost yelped as it originated from her bellybutton and radiated outward to her fingers and toes. The entire time she saw a shadow in her mind's eye. A male werewolf watching her, wanting her but not overtly so it was like he was in denial.

The sensations, pleasure, pain, fear and all imaginable emotions flooded her system again.

Amber wrapped her arms around herself once more, thank the gods this only happened once a month for one day. Her eyes stayed unfocused for a long while. Her mind moving from being blank to thinking about a soulmate that didn't want her and a shadowy figure haunting her wolf mind.

Werewolves were duality creatures. They had one soul and a dichotomous mind. The wolf mind could act completely autonomously from the human mind and vise versa. With regards to this shadowy figure Amber understood that her wolf mind knew exactly who her soulmate was. She chose not search her mind for this answer. If her soulmate did not want her she would leave it at that.

She was an Alpha. She could not be worried about such things. She had to worry about what was best for her pack and a male Alpha was of no importance. She could manage her pack with her Beta and Omicron with no issue.

Another surge of clouded sensation stormed through her and her body trembled fiercely. This time the sensation coalesced in her head and her brain felt as if an electrical current ran through it. She closed her eyes tight and rode the wave of pain. It lasted longer than she thought it would but she held and when it subsided she settled deeper into her soft bed and waited for the next, more excruciating bout of pain.

Again she thanked the God's that this was only for one day a month.

Adonis sat quietly. Willing himself not to react to his sister's appearance. He sighed.

"Will you please give permission to have a major tournament to find you a mate? You can fight the winner at the end and if he loses I will drop the issue but you will have to allow the Deltas to help you with your heat. Each month you lol worse and worse."

Amber did not look up at her brother the entire time he spoke. She had already decided that something had to be done. The wolf in her already knew she would not find an Alpha. But to essentially be neutered seemed out of the question for her as well.

She sipped her hot tea and then finally looked up to Adonis.

"Fine. But the tournament needs to truly test these fools. And I need the Delta to have a better backup plane than neutering me."

Marco had been having troubles maintaining his wolf. He began walking around half transformed to allow himself a bit more control. The Deltas explained to him that his problem was Amber going into heat and because the wolf side of the persona was instinctual it would become agitated if it could not have their soulmate.

When a shewolf begins her cycle of going into heat it is a monthly occurrence and it becomes progressively worse if she does not have a mate. But when a male wolf has a soulmate that goes into heat and the heat is never satiated the male wolf becomes agitated and can not be calmed unless her heat is appeased.

Marco knew that Amber was in heat. He could not help but know, but that was not the point. She was his enemy. Once she died none of this would matter and his wolf side would calm and come back under his control.

"My Lord Alpha. The Star Fire Pack has announced a fourteen day tournament to find the next male Alpha and mate for Alpha Amber. The winner fights Amber and if they win they become the Alpha of the Star Fire Pack."

Marco listened to the report but it did not matter much to him. They had a lot of surveillance in Star Fire Pack but they could not successfully infiltrate the pack, Star Fire Pack's Psi were just too powerful and experienced. They always rooted out infiltrates and spies with little to no exception.

When Marco looked at his sister blankly she sighed.

"We have a young Psi who has a very powerful illusion ability. She can help to disguise you, allow you to enter the tournament, win, and become the new Alpha. What better way to take over the pack brother?

Amber will know that you are her soulmate. Tris will allow that to pass through her illusion everything else she will alter."

Marco looks blankly at his sister. He slowly began to shake his head as if he felt pity for her.

"That will never work. No Psi is powerful enough to fool an Alpha."

He suddenly frowned and curled his lip I anger. He looked to his right as his sister walked from a side door. He turned back to look at his sister before him. They seemed exactly the same in every way. His sister came and stood by his sister and kisses her on the cheek.

"You did a good job love. I told you that this would be the only way to convince him. Come Tris reveal my husband to our Alpha."

A tiny shewolf that Marco knew well entered her head bowed. Marco frowned looking at the second Jess, who he now knew was Tar but still looked and smelled, and felt like Jess to his senses.

An Alpha could easily shatter illusion especially when they knee it was illusion. But this one still held. Well it did until little Tris stepped forward and something shattered. Suddenly Tar was there.

Marco looked to Tris who still had her eyes cast to the floor respectfully. He then slowly smiled to his sister. Jess matched his smile.

This just might work.
