Chapter 3 - Goblin Territory

Logging back on Blake finds himself still in the forest, this time the forest sounds with clagging metal, "Seams like other players are active during this time." Blake mumbles before heading deeper into the forest, heading into the goblin's territory, planning on staying there for at least an hour to complete the quest he has.

After making it through he can already feel the lack of activity before a warning screen appears in front of him, "A Evolution wave has struck the forest, all goblins in the area have evolved into Hobgoblins and the boss of the area has grown to Level ten. Please be careful."

Blake remembers reading about evolution waves, they increase an area's monsters strength for 24 hours. Loot found in evolution waves are plentiful and for him can be game changing. but also all monsters have the ability to drop Evolution catalysts which can be used to help a player change race.

Blake explores the outer area trying to stay hidden for nearly 10 minutes before he sees a single hobgoblin in an area searching around. Clenching his fist Blake races in prepared for the fight of his life.

The hobgoblin turns around holding a dagger, with much greater speed than the goblins quickly pierces Blake's arm before Blake lands his 2 strike punch sending the hobgoblin to the floor. The hobgoblin nearly unfazed gets up and strikes again but this time leaves two shallow slashes on Blake's body, Blake grits his teeth and continues to punch the hobgoblin, as they exchange blows continuously Blake slowly becoming covered in blood riddled with pain. Blake decides to go all in and continues to activate skill after skill of rapid punches till the hobgoblin falls to the ground and disappears.

As the hobgoblin disappears a screen appears in Blake's vision as he falls to the ground in pain. The screen reads "You have unlocked the skill, Blood Punch. It is a single punch skill that uses five stamina, it heals the user upon use and deals 50% damage. It also has a 1 second cooldown. 10% of martial players have this skill."

After a quick read Blake exits the dungeon to return to town, his HP recovering fast but his stamina still quite low. He quickly logs out.

Waking up in his bed he pulls the headset off, heading to the kitchen he grabs a snack and pulls out his phone to do some research.

Typing in "How do I increase my stamina in Game of Evolution?"

After hitting enter a list appears; "1. Levelling up (increases stamina by a random amount that is determined by real life body composition.) 2. Certain items can increase stamina or recover stamina in towns (E.g. Bracelet of Rest or Ring of recovery.) 3. Changing races to an Undead type (Improves Stamina upon evolution and allows for stamina recovery under certain conditions)

Blake then looks up "Undead races to evolve into from a human race in Game of Evolution"

After hitting enter two options show up; "Lesser vampire, An undead race specialising in magic and draining health. Pros: 1. +200 stamina on evolution 2. +30 HP on evolution 3. +5 mana, strength and speed on evolution 4. Every kill heals the player 10 HP and 1 Stamina. Cons: 1. Holy magic deals double damage to the player and ignores armour and items 2. Sun based attacks deal double damage 3. Luck is capped at 10 4. Silver weapons can't be equipped." the next race is "Zombie or Skeleton, an undead race that specialises in physical strength and continuous recovery. Pros: 1. +100 stamina on evolution 2. +50 HP on evolution 3. +30 strength on evolution 4. Recovers 10 HP every second. Cons: 1. Mana is capped at 5 2. Speed is capped at 30. 3. Holy magic deals double damage. 4. Healing spells damage the player instead of healing HP."

Blake carefully reads everything before searching "How to evolve into a vampire in Game of Evolution?" quickly hitting enter a brief description is shown.

"To evolve into a lesser vampire a player must have an evolution catalyst, kill count over 50 and 5 undead bones in their inventory."

"Seams easy enough" Blake says finishing his bag of chips.

he quickly logs back into the game now with full stamina. Heading straight for the forest to try and get an evolution catalyst from the hobgoblins there.

He enters the goblin territory and begins scouting the perimeter for hobgoblins, after nearly ten minutes he finds two scouting the area. Quickly he launches of striking one with a 1 strike slash attack leaving the hobgoblin on the ground in pain with a large wound on its chest. Putting his sword away he strikes the other hobgoblin with a combination of basic punches and 2 strike punches till the hobgoblin falls to the ground and disappears leaving behind a small white sphere, the other hobgoblin gets up slowly only to be struck with a punch glowing red. After using the blood punch skill Blake feels most of his wounds close up and recover as pain vanishes from his body. Blake picks up the small white sphere and pockets it.

Blake then decides to head further into the forest after a while of searching Blake doesn't see any more hobgoblins probably because the other players wiped them out. Shortly after a screen appears reading "You have completed the quest Dungeon fighter 1. 94% of players have completed this quest."

Blake continues searching around the forest area slowly making his way closer to the centre, eventually he spots a dull iron chest. He walks up to it and opens it slowly, inside is a small pouch of gold and a skill scroll. After counting the gold he puts the 12 gold away in his own pouch and looks at the skill scroll.

"Skill scroll: Burning hands. Fire magic and Martial skill. Deals 10 Fire damage upon contact and the spell lasts 1 minute. Consumes 2 mana and 5 stamina."

Blake smiles after reading it, quickly he activates the scroll as it disappears. Once its gone a screen appears in front of Blake "You have learned the skill Burning hands. 23% of martial players have this skill. 1.5% of magic players have this skill."

He continues further into the forest, a few minutes after looking he stumbles across a group of three hobgoblins but one has a dull grey glow to it. Carefully he activates his Burning hands skill and charges at the glowing Hobgoblin with his 2 strike punch pushing the hobgoblin back and leaving two deep burn wounds on the hobgoblin's chest, but Blake didn't stop he kept going with his various skills and basic attacks this time though he uses his actual martial arts skills and combines punches with various throws and kicks. As the flames on his fists die down the glowing hobgoblin falls to the ground slowly disappearing. Without a second look Blake looks to the other two hobgoblins and swiftly strikes them with his all his might, after a few minutes both hobgoblins fall to the ground disappearing. Blake's body littered with light wounds but nothing serious luckily but his stamina is depleted.

A screen appears in his vison saying "You have unlocked the skill, 1 strike kick. A single kick attack that deals 20% damage. 78% of martial players have this skill." and "You have unlocked the solid punch skill. A single punch skill that deals 35% damage but deals double damage when it lands on the targets chest or throat. 81% of martial players have this skill." Blake grins at the acquirement of new skills.

Looking back at where the glowing hobgoblin died he sees a dull iron chest in its place. Carefully opening the chest to find another pouch of gold and a Ring of Pressure Points.

The ring of pressure points enables the user to apply a paralysis status effect when they land an attack on a monster's pressure point.

Blake takes the ten gold out of the pouch and puts it away in his pouch before returning back to town and logging off.
