"Nagami, what are you doing?"
Kiana, having finished tidying up, walked into the spacious living room alongside CC.
She tilted her head as she looked at Nagami, who sat on the couch with a serious expression. A hint of curiosity crept onto her delicate face.
Bouncing up behind the sofa, Kiana peeked over his shoulder at the laptop screen.
"What even is all this~?"
Her eyes instantly spiraled in confusion.
She stumbled back, overwhelmed by the incomprehensible data—like it was written in ancient scripture. Her tiny brain clearly couldn't handle it.
"Just handling some work stuff," Nagami replied without looking up, fingers flying across the keyboard.
"ME Corp's CEO, Raiden Ryoma, just got arrested for financial fraud."
He finally looked up, eyes locking with CC, though the words were clearly meant for Kiana standing behind her.
As expected, before CC could even pretend to respond, Kiana shot forward like a spring-loaded bullet, her ocean-blue eyes wide with shock and her expression visibly shaken.
"Nagami, what did you just say?!"
Nagami casually leaned away from her intense breath, letting his gaze linger—not so subtly—on the part of her that was pressing against him.
'Huh, not much different from CC's...'
"I said, Raiden Ryoma, CEO of ME Corp, got arrested for financial fraud," he repeated patiently, his eyes flickering with mock surprise as he asked, "Why are you so worked up?"
"Mei-senpai!" Kiana didn't answer.
She spun on her heel and sprinted toward the door, calling her best friend's name with urgency.
"Wait, Kiana!"
Nagami reached out as if to stop her, but she was already gone, leaving behind only the fluttering trails of her twin white braids.
He stood there speechless, half amused and half exasperated.
"She was flirting with me just a minute ago. Now she's bolting because Mei might be in trouble? Is this girl planning to have it all?"
CC crossed her arms, looking down disdainfully in the direction Kiana had dashed off.
Not that she could talk—she had the same "I want everything" mentality.
Nagami sighed, grabbing his car keys off the table.
CC walked over and adjusted his collar with her elegant fingers, smoothing out his clothes.
Once she was satisfied, Nagami headed for the door.
'That dumb fish-brain really didn't think of taking a car?'
In the underground parking lot, the engine roared to life.
Blue flames spat from the exhaust as the car launched forward with lightning speed.
Out on the wide road, it didn't take long before Nagami spotted a white blur running ahead—Kiana—with those iconic twin braids bobbing wildly behind her.
"Get in."
Slowing the car to match her pace, Nagami remained expressionless, calm and serene like a still lake, his gaze clear and bottomless.
"Nagami?" Kiana blinked in surprise but didn't stop running.
Instead, she leaped elegantly into the air and landed in the passenger seat in one smooth motion.
"What are you doing here?"
"You seriously have to ask? I don't know where you're going, but these four wheels are definitely faster than your legs."
"Uh…" The rush of wind through the window calmed her anxious thoughts.
The tension melted from her face, and the cool-headed flair she'd tried to maintain vanished.
"Ahaha… I kinda forgot~"
"You really are a dumb tuna."
"Seriously, what is this tuna thing about?!"
"Still in a hurry or not? Give me the address."
"Oh, right! Mei-senpai's house is close to ME Corp. Just drive in that direction for now."
Before she could even buckle up, the engine revved aggressively.
The car shot forward like a wild stallion, tearing down the road.
The wind howled past them, hugging the car's frame like ocean waves around a speeding boat.
"Wait—Nagami?! We're in the middle of downtown! If you drive this fast, aren't you going to lose your license?!"
Even with her freakishly strong body, Kiana struggled to stay steady.
The maneuver that threaded them perfectly between two cars was enough to shake even her fearless heart.
Nagami narrowed his eyes slightly, making sure Kiana couldn't see the glowing six-pointed star spinning in them.
He had no intention of slowing down.
"It's fine. I'm probably the same age as you."
"…Okay? And?"
"So of course my license is fake, dumbass."
He said it so calmly that Kiana's jaw nearly hit the floor.
Just as her brain tried to catch up, the car surged even faster.
Driving with a fake license and going over the speed limit?
For Nagami, with his current resources and influence, neither issue was particularly difficult to deal with.
He even had a contact in the traffic bureau.
Honestly, Kiana rushing to find Mei wasn't exactly a life-or-death emergency.
Nagami was speeding mostly because the feeling of using the Geass-enhanced eyes to process everything around him was just… too exhilarating.
But after enjoying it for a short while, he eased off the gas.
Even with his enhanced mind, handling that much sensory input for too long was exhausting.
Soon they neared ME Corp, and under Kiana's directions, Nagami turned toward Raiden Mei's house.
"So you've only known Mei for about three weeks?"
Nagami parked in the nearest spot and glanced over at the white dumpling in the passenger seat.
"Yup! It hasn't been long, but our bond is super strong!" Kiana replied proudly, hopping out and planting her fists on her hips.
ME Corp was a well-known conglomerate in the Far East.
As the heiress, Raiden Mei should've attended some elite school—the kind of place where all the wealthy families sent their kids.
But Mei hated the stuck-up atmosphere of those schools. And since Raiden Ryoma was an infamous daughter-con, he let her pick where she wanted to go.
After a lot of consideration, she settled on Chiba Academy—a school considered decent by the general public, but unimpressive to the rich and powerful.
More importantly to Ryoma: fewer boys.
Mei was the "Raiden Queen" of the school—a stunning beauty admired by many.
Even girls were smitten with her, though most people felt she was out of their league.
That's why she didn't have any real friends… until Kiana appeared.
Kiana didn't care about status or image. She just acted on instinct—and, let's be real, it was love at first sight.
So the friendship between the two blossomed rapidly.
Kiana was just about to make her move on Mei… when CC suddenly entered the picture and interrupted her "conquest."
"Let's go, hurry! Mei-senpai's gotta be in a really bad spot right now!"
Kiana grabbed Nagami's wrist the moment the car stopped.
Before he could react, she yanked him with terrifying force, dragging him along like a rag doll.
"Slow down! That hurts—my wrist!"
Nagami's body, still that of a completely normal human, wasn't built to withstand Kiana's manhandling.
If real life were a game, then Nagami with his Geass, and his respawn ability would be best played as a mage.
