...

Pearl Su's hair was smoothed out. Alaric Yun began parting her hair strand by strand. She couldn't tell what he planned to do. One moment he was braiding, the next he was twisting it into a bun.

He fiddled with her hair for nearly half an hour, and finally looked pleased with himself. "Wife, it's almost done. Wait until you see what I've created. Don't forget to praise your husband later!"

Pearl Su looked at the half-finished style. It wasn't bad. The braids were tight and neat, and the bun had a good shape.

The only thing left was the final styling part. But she had no idea what kind of design he was going for.

She watched as he started the finishing touches. He wrapped the braid around the bun in loops and curves. The more he did, the harder it was for her to hold in her laughter.

She knew this man wouldn't succeed. In the end, it was a complete failure.

The style ended up tilted and messy. The originally neat bun was now surrounded by loose and tangled hair strands.

No one could tell what kind of hairstyle he had tried to make.

"Hmm. First attempt. My hands are still not skilled enough." Alaric Yun's deep voice sounded beside her.

Pearl Su stayed expressionless, not giving any reaction.

Alaric Yun quickly took apart the crooked hairstyle, smoothed her hair again, and began braiding once more.

Clearly, he wasn't ready to give up. He was trying again.

She silently watched him work. After another half hour, he reached the final styling part. This time, his movements were more practiced, and the result was a hairstyle that looked elegant and refined.

She looked at herself in the mirror. With the new hairstyle, her entire appearance had changed.

No longer did she look like someone with a casually tied hairstyle. Instead, she looked like a young lady from an ancient noble family, living in her boudoir. Looking at this version of herself...

Pearl Su's heart gave a sudden jolt.

She didn't even know when she would return home.

Pearl Su stared blankly at her reflection.

Then Alaric Yun's deep voice came from beside her, clearly wanting praise.

"Wife, do you like it? I think it suits you quite well."

Pearl Su rolled her eyes inwardly. He was acting like he had done something incredible.

"Looks like my wife doesn't like it very much," he said.

Suddenly, she felt warmth on her neck. From the mirror, she saw that the man had rested his chin on her shoulder.

Their faces were close in the mirror, and for a moment, Pearl Su felt like they were posing for a wedding photo.

She immediately closed her eyes and stopped looking.

"Do you really not like it?" Alaric Yun whispered by her ear.

Pearl Su didn't respond.

His hot breath touched her neck. Then his lips started kissing her skin. After a while, in a low and hoarse voice, he said, "Wife, I want you."

His kisses turned wilder. Soon, he lifted Pearl Su up and carried her to the bed.

After an intense time together, Alaric Yun lay beside her looking satisfied. His hand kept gently pinching her soft cheek.

"Wife, you don't like this hairstyle? Then tomorrow I'll do another one for you."

Pearl Su said nothing. She rolled her eyes again silently. No matter what style it was, if he did it, she wouldn't like it.

"If you still don't like it tomorrow, I'll keep trying different ones for you. How about that?"

Fine. You win.

Lunch was brought in.

Pearl Su finally remembered that they had been messing around all morning. Her stomach was a little hungry now, but she didn't say anything or hint that she wanted to eat.

Alaric Yun didn't mention it either. Instead, he kept talking while observing Pearl Su's expression.

Seeing that she still looked calm and quiet, he finally said, "Wife, shall we go eat lunch?"

No, she didn't want to. She'd probably end up being hand-fed again. Just thinking about it made Pearl Su regret her past decisions all over again.

Seeing she still didn't move, Alaric Yun smiled. "Wife, are you scared?"

…Pearl Su

Alaric Yun laughed even more brightly, then pinched her soft cheek. "Don't worry, my lady. I'll be gentle with you in a while."

He got up and dressed, then helped Pearl Su put on her clothes. He carried her to the table and had her sit on his lap.

Lunch included: braised venison, roast chicken, steamed whitefish, braised pork, stir-fried romaine lettuce, and a soup with sea cucumber and mushrooms.

Pearl Su looked at the table full of food, but thinking about what was going to happen later made her face darken. She didn't have the slightest appetite.

Sure enough, whether she liked it or not, the meal was finished just like that.

She wasn't very happy during the first half, but in the second half, she just gave in and accepted it.

She believed this annoying man couldn't keep controlling her like this forever. Once she recovered, she'd make him regret it.

After lunch, Alaric Yun carried her back to bed. The two rested together, and not long after, Pearl Su fell asleep again.

This time, she slept for a full hour and a half.

When she woke up, that annoying man was nowhere in sight. Pearl Su felt a rush of joy—finally, she didn't have to see his face.

Unfortunately, she still had no strength in her body and couldn't move.

Sighing silently, she suddenly heard a familiar voice by her ear.

"My lady is awake. Did you miss me?"

…Miss you? Ha. Dream on.

"I missed you," Alaric Yun said. "They say one day apart feels like three years. But now, even a moment without you feels like three lifetimes." As he spoke, he smiled and pinched Pearl Su's little nose.

Then he took off his outer robe, shoes, and socks, got into bed, and lay on his side close to her, propping his head on his hand while looking at her.

His long, elegant hand picked up her small, delicate one. The pads of his fingers gently rubbed her smooth palm and the back of her hand. He murmured, "My lady, I always want to be with you, never apart."

"Do you miss me too?"

When Pearl Su didn't respond, his hand let go of hers and reached around to her left waist, tickling her quickly.

Pearl Su couldn't help twitching and burst out laughing.

Seeing her laugh uncontrollably, Alaric Yun grinned and asked, "Tell me, did you miss me?"

"I did, I missed you," Pearl Su said between bursts of laughter, speaking quickly.

"How much did you miss me?" Alaric Yun's hand didn't stop moving as he pressed her.

"A lot. A whole lot."

"How much is a lot?"

"My whole mind is full of you."

Alaric Yun was pleased. He finally stopped and leaned in close to Pearl Su's ear, whispering with a smile, "Your whole mind is full of me. Then what exactly were you thinking about?"

He lifted her small hand and placed it on his chest. "Was it here? Or here?"

He moved her hand to the right side of his chest and made her rub it lightly.

"Tell me, did you miss me?"

Still holding her hand, he slowly moved it down again, placing it on the right side of her waist, letting it feel the skin through the thin fabric.

…Pearl Su cursed him silently in her head. This damn man.

She gave in and quickly said, "I missed you."

"Ah, my lady is wonderful. You missed every part of me. Honestly, I miss every part of you too."
