Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

---

Nolan gazed at the panel in front of him as he read the description of his only attribute.

[Attribute: Divine Allure

- Unnatural Grace: Your beauty defies logic—mirrors crack, flowers bloom in your footsteps, and light bends to accentuate your form. ]

Nolan stared at the floating panel, reading his absurdly grandiose attribute description. His lips twitched upward.

'Well. This should make survival easier.'

A loud snap broke his focus. Luffy was waving a hand in front of his face. "Hey. Hey. Hey. What's your name again?" He scratched his head. "I definitely remember. Probably."

Nolan blinked. Right. Introductions.

"Nolan D. Ranvil," he said, shrugging. "Call me Nolan. I'm lazy as hell, but I'll try not to slow you down."

Vivi's breath hitched. "Nolan…" she murmured—only for Nami to elbow her sharply.

"Wow. Smooth," Nami deadpanned, though her own cheeks were suspiciously pink.

Barbarossa, tired of being ignored, stomped forward. "Where were you headed before this?"

Luffy met his gaze blankly. Seconds passed.

"...Dunno!" Luffy beamed.

Usopp facepalmed. "We're following this guy?!"

Barbarossa stroked his beard. "Ah! So it's one of those 'journey without a plan' philosophies! Bold!"

"No, you idiot! We were traveling to Yuba before those damn birds stole all our supplies!" Nami snapped.

At the mention of birds, Nolan noticed movement in the distance. A small flock was circling high above the ship. "Speaking of which..." he pointed upward.

The reaction was immediate. Luffy's arms shot out, stretching toward the sky. "THOSE JERKS! GIVE BACK OUR FOOD!"

But something strange happened when the birds drew closer. Their flight patterns became erratic, wings flapping unevenly as they caught sight of Nolan. One by one, they began descending toward the ship in slow, hesitant spirals.

Usopp gaped. "Why are they...? Those are definitely the same thieves!"

The lead bird - a large specimen with distinctive blue plumage - landed awkwardly on the railing near Nolan. Its beady eyes were locked onto him with disturbing intensity.

Nolan tilted his head. "Do you... have our supplies?"

The bird nodded so vigorously it nearly fell over.

"Can you bring them back? And maybe... your friends too?"

What followed was one of the most bizarre scenes any of them had witnessed. The blue bird took off with a screech, soon followed by the rest of the flock. They disappeared over the dunes at remarkable speed.

Luffy scratched his head. "Did they just... agree to help?"

"Seems that way," Zoro said, though he looked as confused as the others.

About ten minutes later, the horizon darkened. At first it looked like a sandstorm, but as it drew closer, the truth became apparent - hundreds, maybe thousands of birds were approaching in a massive, swirling cloud.

Nami's jaw dropped. "Are those... all carrying things?"

Indeed, each bird bore some object in its talons - food sacks, water skins, even what appeared to be a marine hat. The blue leader bird landed before Nolan and dropped a very confused-looking desert rabbit at his feet as an offering.

Sanji took one look at the scene and immediately fainted again, blood streaming from his nose.

Chopper shook the cook violently. "Not again! What even triggers him anymore?!"

Nolan picked up the dazed rabbit, stroking its ears absently as he surveyed the mountain of returned goods - plus many items that definitely hadn't been theirs to begin with. "Well... this is handy."

Luffy was already elbow-deep in the food pile. "MEAT! They brought extra meat! Best crew member ever!" he declared through a mouthful of stolen jerky.

Nami was torn between gratitude and horror as she sorted through the loot. "This is... useful, but also deeply concerning. How far does this beauty of yours extend?"

Nolan could only shrug as another bird tried to present him with a stolen Marine cap. "I'm starting to wonder that myself."

Nolan leaned against the piled-up supplies, watching as the crew celebrated their windfall. "So," he said, turning to Nami, "Nami-san right? What's the plan from here? I'm guessing you're the only one who actually knows where we're going."

Nami's eyes sparkled as she mentally calculated the value of their recovered goods. "Yuba. We're still heading to Yuba." She paused, then added with a slightly softer tone, "And just 'Nami' is fine. No need for formalities."

Luffy bounded over to Barbarossa, stretching his arm to clap the massive captain on the back. "Thanks for the help, big guy! We're outta here now!"

Barbarossa's booming laughter shook his entire frame. "Don't mention it! We came out ahead too!" He gestured to the generous share of supplies Nolan had insisted they take - after all, they'd been running dangerously low themselves.

Sanji sorted through their reclaimed provisions, cigarette bobbing as he spoke. "With this much, we're set for at least two weeks. Maybe three if someone," he shot a look at Luffy, "doesn't eat everything in the first three days."

"Hey! I don't eat that much!" Luffy protested, mouth already full of jerky.

Usopp noticed Nolan rummaging through a separate pile of miscellaneous stolen items. "Uh, Nolan? What are you looking for?" Despite digging through what was essentially junk, Nolan somehow made it look like he was examining rare artifacts in a museum.

Nolan didn't answer immediately, his hands finally closing around something metallic. "This," he declared triumphantly, holding up a standard-issue military rifle.

Zoro wandered over, intrigued. "You know how to use that?"

Nolan opened his mouth to respond, then paused. The truth was, he'd never held a gun in his life. Before he could answer, his vision filled with glowing text:

[Ding! Detected a purposeful action of the host!]

[Host obtained the item: Rifle]

[Ding! Congratulations for successfully triggering 10,000 times critic...]

[Ding! Rifle has been upgraded into item: The Third Eye!!]

[Weapon Name: The Third Eye (第三の眼, *Daisan no Me)

Description:

The Third Eye is a specialized, high-powered sniper rifle designed by the Yotsuba Clan. Unlike conventional firearms, it operates using a hybrid of magic and cutting-edge technology, functioning as a railgun-assisted sniper system optimized for extreme-range elimination.

Key Features:

- Magic-Assisted Railgun Mechanism:

Instead of gunpowder, it uses electromagnetic acceleration allowing it to fire projectiles at hypervelocity speeds with pinpoint accuracy.

- Psion-Embedded Rounds:

The bullets are inscribed with Gram Demolition spells, ensuring they bypass most defense.

- Matter Decomposition Effect:

Each fire of this gun doesn't just hit the target. It disintegrates it into a molecular level.

- Long-Range Precision:

Effective range exceeds 20 kilometers, with an integrated magic-augmented scope that compensates for wind, gravity, and even minor spatial distortions.

- Stealth Operation:

The rifle emits no muzzle flash or audible gunshot when firing, making it undetectable by conventional means.]

The rifle in Nolan's hands shimmered, its form shifting and refining until he held what could only be described as a work of deadly art. The transformation was so dramatic that even Zoro took a step back.

Usopp's jaw dropped. "W-what just happened? That's not normal gunsmithing!"

Nolan hefted the newly transformed weapon, feeling its perfect balance. The knowledge of how to use it seemed to flow into him instinctively. He glanced at the stunned faces around him and shrugged. "Looks like I got a weapon now."

Luffy, completely unfazed by the magical transformation, pumped his fist. "AWESOME! Now we have our own super-gun guy!"

Nami pinched the bridge of her nose. "I'm just going to pretend that made sense. Can we please get moving before anything else weird happens?"

As the crew prepared to depart, Nolan examined his new weapon with quiet awe. The Third Eye hummed faintly in his hands, as if alive. He wasn't sure whether to be thrilled or terrified - probably both.
