Chapter 60 – The Boy Between Timelines
The cheerful voice echoed across the endless space beyond reality.
"Oh!"
"So this timeline finally made it."
Unlike every voice that had spoken before, this one sounded... normal.
Young.
Curious.
Almost excited.
Evetyl looked around.
"Who said that?"
No answer came.
Then, without warning, a small crack appeared in the empty sky.
It wasn't a crack in space.

The crack slowly widened until a hand reached through it.
A teenage boy stepped out.
He looked no older than seventeen.
He wore a black hoodie, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Around his neck hung an old silver pendant shaped like a compass.
There was nothing extraordinary about his appearance.
If anyone had seen him walking through a city, they would have thought he was an ordinary student.
But the moment his feet touched reality...
Every star became brighter.
Not because of his power.
Because reality recognized him.
The boy looked around with wide eyes.
"Wow..."
"This universe turned out really beautiful."
The First Thought immediately analyzed him.
"Unknown entity."
The Eye tried to observe him.
Nothing.
The Outer King searched for authority.
None.
The Warden searched for danger.
None.
Cr-Hook whispered,
"I can't measure him..."
The boy noticed everyone staring at him.
He scratched the back of his head and laughed awkwardly.
"Uh... hi."
Nobody moved.
The silence became uncomfortable.
Finally, Evetyl stepped forward.
"Who are you?"
The boy smiled.
"My name is Kai."
"Just Kai."
The First Thought responded instantly.
"No historical record."
Kai shrugged.
"I know."
"I've never been part of your history."
The Forgotten One suddenly became serious.
"You came from outside."
Kai nodded.
"Outside your timeline."
Everyone exchanged confused looks.
"Our timeline?" Evetyl asked.
Kai pointed behind himself.
Beyond the crack were countless glowing worlds.
Some looked familiar.
Others were completely different.
"There isn't only one reality," Kai explained.
"There are countless timelines."
"Most of them end."
"Some survive."
"And a very small number..." He smiled.
"They learn."
Evetyl looked at him carefully.
"You've seen other worlds?"
Kai laughed.
"I've visited thousands."
The First Anomaly blinked.
"Thousands?"
"Yep."
"Were they all this dramatic?"
Kai grinned.
"Oh, no."
"One universe was destroyed because someone argued about pineapple on pizza."
Even the Warden laughed.
The tension broke instantly.
Kai looked relieved.
"Good."
"I was hoping you people had a sense of humor."
The First Thing spoke from below existence.
"Kai."
Kai's smile became softer.
"Hey."
The First Thing sounded happy.
"You came."
"I promised."
"I know."
"You took a long time."
Kai shrugged dramatically.
"There were... a lot of universes."
The First Thing laughed.
"I forgive you."
Evetyl looked between them.
"You know each other?"
Kai nodded.
"We've been friends for a very long time."
"Longer than time, actually."
The Eye finally asked,
"How?"
Kai looked at the Eye.
"Because friendship doesn't need time."
Nobody knew how to respond.
Kai walked toward Evetyl.
He looked at the white flower in her hand and smiled.
"So you were the first one to answer."
Evetyl nodded.
"I guess."
"You did more than guess."
"You changed everything."
She frowned.
"I didn't do anything special."
Kai smiled warmly.
"The biggest changes usually start with ordinary kindness."
For a moment, nobody spoke.
Then Kai looked at everyone.
"The audit is over."
"The loneliness is ending."
"The future is open."
"So..."
He clapped his hands once.
"What do you all want to do now?"
The question confused everyone.
The Outer King frowned.
"We have duties."
Kai smiled.
"Do you?"
The King hesitated.
The Warden looked at its chains.
The Eye looked at the stars.
The First Thought stopped calculating.
For the first time...
None of them had a mission.
None of them had an enemy.
None of them had a crisis to solve.
They simply had a future.
Kai looked at Evetyl.
"What about you?"
She looked at the endless sky.
Then at the people around her.
Then at the First Thing, whose dream-stars were filling existence with light.
Finally, she smiled.
"I think..."
"I'd like to see what's beyond the horizon."
Kai's eyes sparkled.
"Perfect."
He reached into the pocket of his hoodie and pulled out a folded map.
It wasn't a normal map.
It constantly changed, showing places that didn't exist one moment and appeared the next.
He unfolded it on the ground.
"There are still places no one has explored."
"Worlds no one has visited."
"Mysteries no one has solved."
He looked at everyone with an excited grin.
"So..."
"Who's coming with me?"
For the first time in the history of existence...
