"Ahh fuck." Xavier said as he stood up, holding his sharpened dagger in his and looked his new foe, the Aquatic Dweller. The monster was breathing heavily, before it rushed towards Xavier. The creature wasn't as fast as the imps, which made Xavier smirk as he rushed forward. The monster swung his claws at him and he ducked, before slashing the monster's leg, drawing first blood.
"What the?" Xavier said with a disgusted expression as flashed his knife, which was covered in some type of mucus. The monster roared and rushed towards Xavier once more, but Xavier ducked under it's claw and stabbed it in the arm. He tried to pull out the dagger, but the dagger remained stuck in the creature's arm. The monster swung it's free hand at him, forcing him to jump back and click his tongue.
His weapons were currently behind the monster and if he wanted them, he needed to get past it. Trusting his speed, he rushed towards the monster and dived under it's claw, only to be met by it's disgusting fish tail.
'This thing is definitely stronger than the imps.' Xavier thought as he was sent flying a few meters away. After coming to a stop, he stood on his feet unsteadily, before wiping a drop of blood off the corner of his lips. He slowly hopped away as the monster made it's way towards him and he quickly pushed his body to move faster. The monster soon appeared infront of him and swung it's claws at him and he barely dodged, as it's claws grazed his cheek. The monster then sent a punch towards his stomach, but Xavier quickly blocked, and was sent flying again.
Xavier got to his feet and started hopping away from the monster as it ran towards him and he fell to the ground, quickly grabbing his sword. The monster swung it's claws down on him, and he blocked it with the copper sword. The monster pressed down on him, opening it's wide maw, causing disgusting mucus to drip onto his face. As Xavier felt that he was about to die, the monster backed off and he could hear it struggling to breathe, and he noticed that it's skin looked a bit dry. The monster quickly rushed back to the river and ran downstream, befire diving into the water and disappearing forever. Xavier fell back on the ground, breathing heavily, but he quickly rose to his feet as he was afraid the Aquatic Dweller might come back.
"That bastard stole one of my daggers." Xavier said furiously, before washing his face and retrieving the rest of his weapons and moving on. He stopped under a tree, which didn't provide much shade, to rest for a bit. He continued his hunt an hour later and he could see the sun receding as noon turned to evening, and he knew he didn't have much time left. Luckily, or unluckily, he found a group of three imps sitting on a tree. Not wanting to waste any time, he walked into the open and stuck his two swords in the ground and held a dagger in his hand.
"Hey assholes, come and get this delicious human flesh!!" He said loudly, successfully catching the imps attention. The imps quickly left their perch and flew towards him, and he took a battle stance. As the imps got closer, he leaped towards one of them, catching it by surprise which allowed him to kill it quickly by stabbing it in the neck. The other two turned around and he ran towards them, and when they were close enough, he threw his dagger into one of their stomachs and slid across the ground to avoid the claw of the last one. He grabbed one of the swords on he stuck in the ground earlier, before running back towards the imps. The imp which was stabbed in the stomach, was barely staying in the air, trying to pull out the dagger, but before it could, Xavier slashed it's neck, causing blood to pour out.
He then pulled the dagger out of the creature's stomach, and held it in his hand as he looked at the final imp menacingly. Unperturbed, the imp flew towards him with it's claws outstretched Xavier quickly swung his sword, deflecting it's claw and jumping into the air.
"Arrgggghh." He screamed as he spun around and swung his blade, cutting the creatures throat. They both fell to ground, and Xavier kneeled on the ground, breathing heavily.
'Just one more to go. But, what are the chances I'm gonna find an imp alone.' Xavier thought, while looking at the two dead imps and the one that was on the ground, twitching.
