I don't know if I should be upset about the killing of that being or not, but I did what was necessary. It killed me once already— it would've made sure I was dead a second time if needed.
He took a seat on the bed and laid back once again, taking in everything he experienced earlier. The thoughts of the abyss still linger in his mind, as well as the girl he met before coming back to reality.
Hearing her voice earlier threw him off, something he didn't expect to hear since she never spoke before that.
I'm going to have to accept that she'll be helping me in the future, she seems to be a big contribution to the shadows. Allowing me to use them in that fight— giving me an advantage.
I guess it would be wrong to say she contributes since it seems that she's the main source behind it. It would make more sense for me to say she is the shadows if anything.
It's fine though, I worry about those thoughts later. Sleep would be the next best idea for now.
Artemis got a bit more comfortable before finally shutting his eyes for the night, slowly drifting off.
Amelia's Estate began to form around him as he suddenly found himself waking up on the hard floo once again. (9 Years ago. When Artemis was still learning everything.)
The harsh stone ground that I always sleep on wasn't the most comforting thing in the world, but at least my family was better in this life.
A man with short black hair, swept back , wearing raggedy clothing approached, his dark blue eyes gave the reminder that it was Artemis's dad. "Son we have a bit more work than usual today, something that you'll have to do a lot of in the future." Dad speaks with a bit of a calm tone.
This was when he first started teaching me how to use a sword, I can't believe this is the first thing in a long time that I remember. Maybe I really am becoming more accustomed to the idea of this being my main life.
The thoughts of my old life didn't linger as much as everything does in this world.
"Wait, do I get to use a sword toda!?!" Artemis asks with excitement in his voice.
His dad just give him a nod before leading him over to some practice dummies. "The Rose Family was generous in letting us do this." Dad explains before handing over a sword.
The Rose family, that was the last name of Amelia that I couldn't remember for some reason. Why did it slip me mine all of a sudden?
Did the massacre at the estate really block out my memories or did something happen after we left with the pact in place. That's a lot of questions that I don't have any answers for.
A young Artemis begins practicing his swings against the dummies as his dad watches from behind him. "Training him to fight already Tom?" A woman's voice speaks from behind.
A woman with long white hair and pinkish eyes could be seen standing directly behind Tom. She didn't hesitate to wrap her arms around him, as the Roses were a lot more kind than most noble families.
Most noble families separated the family's who worked for them until the work day was over.
"Yeah, I figured it's about time to train him more. Monsters have been slowly showing up more around the estate." Tom responds before turning to face Chloe.
I could still remember how tight I gripped the handle of the sword with each swing against those dummies. It was the first day in a long time that I had a lot of fun doing something new.
Learning everything from Mom that I could was also quite a fun time but the fighting was something I didn't ever have to do in my old life. It was honestly the most refreshing thing to experience in a long, long time.
Artemis stopped his training after a few hours since it was getting late, his dad seemed pretty proud of him too.
I think this was the first time I truly remember seeing Amelia watching from the windows, so why did I act like it was the first time when we talked? My mind truly is going a million different directions in this world, or maybe I just couldn't remember it at the time.
It would make sense since I did have a lot of different memories growing up at the estate as a slave. Most of them seemed to be good memories so I can't really say it was all that bad.
Every once in awhile I would have this strange vision though— almost as if I was getting the shit beat out of me by someone. Nothing like that ever came to be but it wasn't the most pleasant dream to have.
"Art let's get some rest, we have a busy day tomorrow." Dad says while gesturing for him to come inside.
I didn't ever argue with them about going inside or not since they actually cared about my well-being. Something that I wasn't use to experiencing before, especially after my previous life.
My girlfriend cared but after some point in time when I lost my job it changed a bit more than I realized. The fights were more frequent, the love we shared was diminishing, and I was tired of it all.
They went inside and everyone got ready for bed, it was a peaceful night as always. "Goodnight Art. I love you." Mom says softly before going to lay with His dad.
"I love you too mom." Artemis replies softly before closing his eyes.
Learning how to fight took me quite some time— but dad had a lot of training from when he was a knight. There's a lot of questions I wish I could've asked him more about.
Everything disappears within an instant as Artemis jolts awake in his bed once again, not knowing if he was being loud again or not. "Everything seems fine, no one else is in here with me." He says quietly to himself.
I don't know why I felt so weird for a minute there.
