Chapter 12 - A Little Getaway

Daniel:

I heard Maria, my wife, was in El Salvador territory, one of the deadliest places in the country. How the hell was that possible? I asked Vance again to make sure I didn't hear wrong and to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

Maria seemed like an innocent girl, or maybe I thought wrong about her. I pulled myself up, thinking of so many possibilities of how my uncle might have gotten to her and made me marry her.

I began thinking of different explanations and scenarios as to why she was seen there. It could be that she is a freaking spy or probably someone my uncle had hired because she wasn't the woman I was supposed to marry at the onset. She must have been switched on purpose.

"Darn it! "I could have been fooled, probably lost my guard." I cursed.

Was it part of his moves? They were all after my demise, including his two dumb sons who seemed to get on my nerves.

"Stay right there, I'm coming," I had ordered.

I drove to the El Salvador black market at the speed of lightning. I wasn't bothered by how fast I was on the major road. I wasn't taking any risks.

The next moment, a police officer's car was behind me, beckoning me to stop my car, obviously because of my speed.

I was not even planning to give in to that chance. I didn't care about the damn ticket he wanted to give me. I needed to lose the police car because it was already attracting people to me. I cornered different roads and small streets, but this car seemed to be on my tail.

Besides, this officer seemed to be under the influence of El Salvador, which meant he was also working for my uncle and if they found out I was heading there, it was going to destroy my plan for tonight.

"Hey, Siri! Call me Vance. I yelled to my phone.

"Sorry, there's no one named Vance in your contact. Please be more specific," Siri replied.

"Oh damn it." I cursed under my breath.

As I tried to keep my hands on the wheels, I quickly pulled out my phone and called him myself. It took a few seconds, and I was already impatient. "Pick the goddamn phone, Vance, pick the damn phone."

"Hey, boss. Your wife is so hot even in a hoodie."

"Shut up, a police officer's car is on my tail, get rid of them," I said.

"Okay, okay boss. You should have started with that. There's a U-turn to an alley just two blocks away from where you are. " Get there, there's a spare car over there," he replied.

I hung up the phone and tried to distract the police officer's car. I drove around the block till the police got a little lost identifying my car. Quickly, I alighted from my car and ditched it. I got into the other car in the alley and off I went.

Finally, I got to El Salvador's territory. I walked to Vance's car. It was tinted black all over, making it quite hard for anyone to look through it. I knocked on the window twice to get his attention. He unlocked the doors and I entered.

"Boss, so far, she's still there," Vance said with his eyes on the road.

"What about the CCTV camera we secretly installed a few weeks back in the store?" I asked.

Vance looked at me quietly and blinked twice like he didn't know what I was saying. "Oh, oh, I forgot that. I didn't."

"Jesus Vance, all this time you didn't get to the CCTV camera? What the hell is wrong with you? That should be the first thing you could have done. How do we hear their conversation? "

Vance bowed his head, pulled out a tab, and hacked the control access to the CCTV camera. "Sorry boss, I just didn't think Maria would be part of them." He pleaded.

"Wow, Vance, you don't even know who she really is. You can't just conclude she's not on their side. No one should be trusted. You should know that. Is it a coincidence that just the minute we were about to hit El Salvador, she just walked her way into the store?" I asked.

"She was holding a box, she took a box in. "Probably she wants to sell something," Vance defended.

I became more curious than ever. Just then, the CCTV camera was accessed and we saw Maria in El Salvador. He was so close to her, and she firmly held the box Vance talked about in her chest. Everyone in the store surrounded her and I could see she was quite scared.

In the box, I saw a label. It was actually from the brand of the wedding store where I got those shoes for her. Could it be that she wants to sell them? Just as she tried to walk away, a group of El Salvador boys cornered her.

"Boss, you got to go in there right now. "You can see she's not safe there," Vance said, bringing my thoughts back to reality.

I rested my back in the car seat. "Why should I? She went there herself so she could bring herself out. "Did she tell me when she was about to leave to sell the gift I got for her?" I rhetorically asked.

Vance's eyes opened wide. I could see he was shocked that I got a gift for Maria. "Before you say anything, shut up." I immediately said because I knew he was about to make a drama out of it.

"Wait a minute! Am I hearing right?! You! Daniel Thompson bought a gift for a woman who isn't your mother? Someone, please wake me up. "What have you done with Daniel please?" He still went on to tease.

While he spoke, I closed my eyes and slightly opened my side eye to glance at him. "You talk too much," I said and unlocked the car door. "I'm going in, keep guard," I instructed as I left the car and made my way to the store.

After a few minutes, which felt like hours, Maria and I walked out of the store to my car. I tried to speak to her and reason things with her, but she was too stubborn to contain.

When I told her about giving her father one million bucks, it was as if she wanted to burst, to blow up literally. Why were women this emotional, I thought? I was too scared to say anything that would hurt her more and as I was lost about what to do, I filled my lips with hers.

It was magical, her lips were so soft and inviting, and every part was a sensation calling me in. I have kissed a lot of women, but Maria's was heavenly. Though some parts of her lips tasted salty, mainly because of her tears, it didn't change the fact that I wanted to do more; I wanted to have more of her.

I lost myself as I felt the urge to continue exploring. "Does that calm you down or do you need more?" I asked calmly, but deep down I knew I was in a very volatile state, but just trying to keep myself in check and get a hold of myself.

I stared at her eyes. She had Hazel's eyes and a drop of tears still filled her eyes. It looked like the entire galaxy was originally sculpted from her eyes. I wished I could hear what was going through her mind.

My hands cupped her clear cheek, I moved closer to her again and she did the same. It was then I knew she wanted more just as I did. My nose and hers were already intertwining. I took that opportunity to sniff her sweet scent.

Her scents like roses, Jasmine, and Lily and, surprisingly, like spicy mint. I couldn't help but smile, the spicy mint scent was exactly like mine. Turns out Maria had been stealing from me. She's been a very bad girl and the man in me wanted to punish her so badly.

Tracing my hands to her waist, I could hear her breathing fast. Her chest was pounding, and I could feel it because there was no space between us. I took my hands lower from her waist and caressed it.

I kissed her deeply while my hands explored her. I pulled her to me, placed my hands on her now-opened cleavages, and gently squeezed it. She let out a loud moan in my mouth.

Deeping my hands into her clothes, I continued grabbing her. I could tell she was enjoying it as she tried to unlock her bra. I helped her unlock the bra, and it was left hanging on her body. Now it was freer for me to continue while I deepened my kiss.

She held my hands and closed her eyes tightly as I began again to smooch her. It was so soft to feel, and I didn't even want to stop.

As I wanted to get naughtier, the next thing I heard was glass shattering behind us. I immediately came back to my senses and noticed the unusual position between me and Maria. Turns out El Salvador had sent his boys to wreck our car.

Vance must have invaded immediately we had left!

I was too slow to get her away from here.

They destroyed the rear window glass of the car. Maria quickly positioned herself right, and I could see she was a bit embarrassed at herself. " What is going on?" She said, frightened.

I wanted to get out of the car and charge at them, but I thought to myself. Why not save El Salvador's punishment for later?

I turned my gaze at Maria, and she was not at her best self I think. I just looked towards the road and started the car and left, ignoring anything that had happened a few moments ago. The entire ride home was awkwardly quiet.

As we approached the driveway, we met an unexpected visitor. The police were at my house. Of course, it was expected.

"Why are they here?" Maria, who had been quiet all along, asked.

"It's just a little issue, but I think I will be gone for a little while," I said as I pulled over.

We alighted from the car and the police who had noticed our arrival had a suspicious look on their faces. One was because of the rear window glass that was obviously broken.

They walked up to us. "Mr. Daniel Thompson, a report has been sent to us about a car. A car was pursued by a police officer earlier today because of high-speed movement on the main road. "Luckily, we found the car but, apparently, we didn't find the driver," one police officer said.

"So how are you sure it was me?" I asked, folding my hands.

The second police officer continued, " Sir, we ran prints on the car, and we figured it belonged to you. And we also have your information in the system that you have been continuously violating the City's road safety policies, and I've been getting away with it.

"Oh you have, how come it took you guys so long to find that out," I said sarcastically.

Maria looked at me. "Stop it." she quietly said.

The two police officers stared at themselves. One of them pulled out a handcuff. They both held me down and laid my body in the car with my face pressed into the window.

I couldn't see Maria, but I heard her shouting at them. "Stop, stop it! He's not a criminal. " Don't touch him like that," She yelled, and I smiled sheepishly that someone actually did care about me.

"Mr. Daniel Thompson, you're under arrest for the constant violation of the road safety policies of the United States of America. You will be going to the station to write your statement and, after that, you will be judged according to the law."
