Chapter 10 - Chapter: 10, Duron's Memory

Chapter: 10, Flashback

In front of XX, XX High school.

A brown haired teenage boy was standing in front of the bustling school gate. As many students wearing the same uniform as the young man, were walking through the gate. Some were with their parents and some of them were with their friends that are meeting in this high school after being separated in middle school.

The brown haired boy, Duron, was also waiting for his best friend from middle school. They had promised each other that they would meet at the School Gate. And that bastard was late as usual.

Seeing that his friend still wasn't here after thirty minutes of wait, the boy decided to explore the school facilities a bit. So he sent his friend a message and looked at the school map beside the gate.

This was one of the top schools in the country and it wasn't any smaller than a high class university, so the map was convenient. As his bright brown eyes looked through the map, it landed on the school library.

He was a studious student. Despite his slightly muscular physique, he loved studying. So the academy library did pique his interest. With the destination set, he started walking towards the library.

Inside the library, he was walking around from shelf to shelf, looking for a book within his range of interest. After about some time of looking around, he finally found a book to read.

Then he went to the reading section, the place was quite empty since it was the beginning of the semester. Duron saw an empty seat in a quiet corner and sat down. He flipped through the pages one by one as he started reading in the quiet hall.

The sunlight fell on the book pages through the glass window as he looked at the beautiful scenery of the natural glow of the trees and the shade they reflected. Students were walking around the small path, laughing and enjoying their first day to the fullest.

Then…She appeared in his life…

"H-Hello, would you mind sitting somewhere e-else? You are currently sitting in my regular seat." A sweet voice entered his ears as he looked towards the voice, his heart unsteady just from hearing her voice.

In front of him, there stood a girl looking around his age. Her silky black hair slid down her shoulders, reaching her waist and her bangs slightly covered her crimson nervous eyes behind them. She wore a small black jacket over her white uniform, holding some books with neat covers.

Her features were delicate, making anyone who saw her get the urge to protect her, like a cute doll.

Duron's heart trembled violently, his mind fluttering as a very strange feeling blossomed in his heart. The latter looked at him as Duron recognized this sweet and warm feeling. He had read about them in many of the manga that his friend let him borrow.

Duron, after many years of feeling the loneliness of being single, had finally fallen in love.

The girl looked at him nervously, waiting for him to move. At that time, a shout resonated in both of their ears. They both moved their heads simultaneously to look at the direction where the shout came from.

In front of them, they saw a tall young man with golden blond hair waving at them and walking towards them. His dark blue eyes with crystal pupils looked at them both as he said

"Hey, didn't expect to meet you guys here. It seems you have already met before I could introduce you." He said.

"Dain! You're late again. How many times do I have to tell you to wake up early?" The girl said with an angry but cute expression. Her previous nervousness vanished in an instant as she looked at her childhood friend and crush, her cheek slightly turning red.

"Hey~ is the cutie pie rebelling now? I didn't know you can also get angry." He teased her.

The girl gave him a light punch on the chest as she pouted cutely.

Duron who saw their exchange looked slightly uncomfortable; he asked his best friend, "Hey Dain, I didn't know you had a sister. Shouldn't you introduce us?"

Dain looked at him, realizing that they weren't acquainted before, "Oh sorry about that. Meet my childhood friend, Azaria. She isn't my sister but we are pretty close, just like real siblings."

Azaria stomped his foot hard, making Dain flinch with pain. Azaria then complained, "How many times do I have to tell you to not say something like that?"

"About what?" Dain asked, actually confused. Then he introduced Duron.

"Meet my best friend from middle school, Duron. He's a very smart guy and a bit shy."

Azaria looked at Duron and gave the letter a polite but distant smile, making his heart burn a little. He also noticed their relationship by looking at it from an outsider's perspective.

The girl named Azaria clearly likes Dain. But Dain was oblivious to it, not understanding their strange behavior after they were separated in middle school.

But Duron didn't like it; he would do anything to get Azaria to change her mind.

For the next semester, Duron tried many things to win her heart, anonymous love letters, secret bouquets and small treats.

But everytime he did that and she found out that it wasn't from Dainsleif, she would throw them all away in the trash.

Duron couldn't accept that the girl he liked couldn't be his because of his best friend. So he began to distance himself from Dainsleif. By the end of the semester, they barely talked. After the final exams, he proposed to Azaria directly, but she rejected him.

During the vacation, He saw a post where Dain was with three girls, one of them was Azaria. They all looked at him with the same gentle and affectionate eyes.

'Why!' he thought. Why does Dain need to snatch the person he loved when he already has two other girls waiting for him?!

His heart burned with fury as a seed of hatred for Dain began to take root. His blood boiled, nerves bulged as his hand strongly squeezed his phone, breaking its display a little.

At that moment, Duron realized another fact… He hated Dain the most."
