Chapter 3 - Avatars (1)

This word was under the skills that I possessed.

It seemed that even though I was a new player, I had been given several skills.

Only out of all the skills that I had been given, the one that caught my attention the most was the 'Avatar" skill.

So I focused on that one skill and it didn't take long for a screen to pop up.

It was just that it didn't give a description of the skill.

Currently available avatars: 0/2

It was just a single line that popped up showing me how many avatars I could make, but…

"At least tell me what these avatars are!"

I really wanted to complain about the system, but who was I even supposed to complain to?

"Admin, are you there? I want to lodge a formal complaint against this system."

There was only silence that followed after I said this.

It was worth a shot, but it didn't seem like there were any game admins that were watching.

Instead, I just looked at the rest of my status, but there really wasn't anything that could catch my attention other than the 'Avatar' skill. After all, even the rest of my skills were related to the 'Avatar' skill.

"Mental Fortitude, Shared Senses, Shared Power…It seems like this system really wants me to make an avatar." I couldn't help saying to myself as I read over the list of skills.

But I was still hesitating to make an avatar since there was no telling what would happen.

If I were to make an avatar and then it attacked me because it wanted to be the original…

That would be a very lame way to die in my new life!

I just kept pondering on whether I should do this or not, but there really was no other choice in the end.

There was no telling what would happen to me if I didn't use these abilities granted to me by the system. After all, the character that I had taken over was nothing more than a mob character.

"In that case, I really don't have a choice."

Though after I said this, I realized that I didn't actually know how to use the Avatar Skill…

"Create avatar?" I said in a slow and hesitant voice.

Luckily, it seemed that this ability was indeed activated by voice.

The moment that I said this, there was another screen that appeared in front of me that was completely different from anything that I had seen so far. However, there was also something familiar about this screen, something that I had seen before.

"Isn't this the character creation screen?" I couldn't help slowly saying under my breath as I looked at it.

This was without a doubt the character creation screen that was brought up when playing the game for the first time.

Though looking closely at it, I could see that there were several parts of this screen that were more detailed.

It seemed that instead of having to role for certain things, I would be able to choose as I wished.

But the problem was…

"There are just too few points to get everything that I want."

These avatars would be the things that would keep me alive in this new game world, so of course I couldn't slack on them. It was just that the system wasn't actually giving me many choices here.

"More attribute points will be unlocked the more developed the Avatar Skill becomes."

I looked around again after hearing this before realizing that it was the system that said this.

"Why can't you give it to me now? Consider it as a beginner's bonus." I tried to convince the system to give me more points, but all that followed was silence.

I had already expected this response to a certain extent, but it was still hard to listen to when I received this response from the system.

In the end, the only thing that I could do was make my first character.

With the limited options that I had, I made what I considered a pretty good character.

While his stats weren't that good right now, I looked at the end game and made it so that he would be perfect for a certain build.

This was the build of a hero.

With his blond hair and piercing blue eyes, it was clear that he would become the perfect stereotype hero.

It was just that when I was done with this, I didn't know what to do now.

"What do I do? I've finished making the character." I asked the system when I had no idea of what to do next.

I didn't really have any hope, but the system suddenly spoke.

"Please press the finish button."

"Huh?" I was caught off guard by the system's sudden words, but then I found it. It turned out that there was a finish button at the very bottom right of the screen that I just didn't see until now.

All I had to do was click that button and it would have finished the character creation.

So after a moment of hesitation, I clicked it.

The moment I clicked the button, the screen disappeared. However, there was something else that happened that grabbed my attention just like the screen had done.

It was so bright that I had no choice but to cover my eyes while it was happening.

And when it was over, I found that there was a person standing right there in front of me.

However, I found that this person was familiar.

"Is this the character that I just made?"

Looking closely, I found that it really was the character that I had just created.

Only I never thought that it would put the character in front of me like this.

I was about to complain to the system about this, but then there was this strange feeling that came over me that made me close my eyes to stabilize myself.

When I opened them again, I found that there were two sets of vision in front of me.
