Chapter 7 - Saving the saintess (2)

The guards seemed like they were still a bit hesitant, but they agreed in the end since they knew that he was right.

But the one thing that they insisted on was…

"Please enter the carriage with her holiness. If you remain on foot, all you'll do is hold us back."

This might have sounded mean, but really they were just looking out for this person.

After all, there was still an arrow sticking out of his shoulder and he was still bleeding out.

If he didn't get treated soon, it was likely that he would have bled to death. Even if he didn't bleed to death, it would have been very likely that he would have lost use of that arm if he wasn't treated.

So they could only use this forceful method to help their savior.

It was only after seeing that they were this insistent that this person finally went into the carriage.

As soon as he came in, there was no hesitation at all from Saintess Amy as she came over to use her healing magic on this person.

But there was still one thing that needed to be done.

"Just pull it out. I can handle the pain." That person had already guessed what they were thinking, so he just assured them that it would be fine.

Both Saintess Amy and the maid that had come in to take care of this were surprised, but they respected that person's wishes and did what was necessary to help them.

So in one swift yank, they pulled out the arrow that had been stuck inside of that person's shoulder.

True to his word, he didn't make a single sound of pain.

Though it was clear by the way that he gritted his teeth that he wasn't immune to pain either.

After the arrow was pulled out, Saintess Amy immediately started pouring even more of her healing magic on this wound to make sure that he didn't lose too much blood.

But to her surprise, she found that her healing magic healed the wound quite quickly.

"This…This isn't just the power of my healing magic alone." Saintess Amy couldn't help muttering when she saw this phenomenon.

As the saintess, she had a high level of skill when it came to healing magic. As such, she was able to recognize that it was also because of this person's compatibility with healing magic that he was able to recover this quickly.

This was something that she had never seen before.

When the wound was closed, she couldn't help looking even more closely at where the wound that she had just healed was.

But this meant that she was in an inappropriate position where she was basically right up against this person's bare chest.

He couldn't help feeling a bit awkward seeing her like this, so he gave a cough as a reminder.

That was when Saintess Amy came back to her senses with a blush on her face.

"I'm sorry, I was a little too excited…" She said as she slowly pulled back, but she was also still looking at where the wound was.

That person gave another awkward cough before saying, "It's fine. I should thank you for saving my life."

Saintess Amy shook her head as she said, "No, no, if it wasn't for you, then we would have been in far more danger. It's all thanks to you that we were able to take care of the monsters that attacked us with minor casualties."

The minor casualties that she mentioned were the guards that were hit by the arrows, but they had been able to avoid being hit in a vital area and had been treated by the others.

Since they were a group that followed the saintess, it was only natural that they would be able to use healing magic as well.

Though it certainly wouldn't be as potent as the saintess' healing magic.

Still, it was more than enough for the smaller wounds that they had.

Once Saintess Amy settled down, she couldn't help taking a closer look at the person that had saved them.

During the fight, she really didn't have the time to take a closer look at him, but now that there was some free time…

There was a dazed look that appeared on her face as only one word came to mind.

"Handsome."

With his golden blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, it was as if he could see right into the depths of her soul.

But with the way that Saintess Amy was staring at him, it was impossible for that person to not notice her staring at him which just made him feel even more awkward.

That was why there was another cough that brought Saintess Amy back to her senses.

"Savior, can you please tell us your name? We don't even know the name of the one that saved us." Saintess Amy said all of a sudden.

That person was caught off guard by this sudden question in this dangerous situation, but he had no choice when he saw the way that she was looking at him.

"Gran Jurad." He said in a casual voice.

"Sir Gran…" Saintess Amy repeated under her breath while still looking at him with what seemed to be starry eyes.

It took a while before she came back to her senses.

There seemed to be more things that she wanted to ask, but she had her discretion.

After all, they were still in a dangerous place where monsters could attack them at any moment.

Before that, it just didn't seem right to ask anything else unrelated.

But it was clear that there were more things that she wanted to ask.

After a while, the guards finally came over and said, "It seems like the coast is clear."

Though he said this, he looked at Gran Jurad as if he was confirming something.

Gran Jurad didn't say anything as he looked out the window to scout out the surrounding area, but he eventually gave a nod as well.

As soon as he did, Saintess Amy suddenly asked, "Sir Gran, what were you doing here?"
