Ember
I woke up to the beautiful chirping of birds outside my window. Their joyful symphony jolted me with high energy. I opened my eyelids to the sculpture built of a man getting dressed in front of a large polished surface mirror positioned to show his full physique. He had broad shoulders with a perfectly shaped posterior like a newborn baby.
"What a man," I mumbled quietly to myself. I hurriedly jumped out of the bed with only the silk bed sheet wrapped across my bosom, down to my toes. I gently caressed his muscular back while I moved my hands to explore the rest of his body.
"Good morning, my Alpha," I whispered into his ear while seductively nibbling his earlobes. He let out a low growl as he turned his face sideways to glance at me. He was no other than my Alpha Damon. His stance had an aura of confidence as a true-born king. I got carried away by kissing the back of his neck until he caught me mid-air.
"Not now, Ember, I have some important matters to take care of." He said in a sharp tone. He kissed my forehead as he got dressed and left the room hastily. I lay down on the bed, letting out a weary sigh in anguish.
Later, I met Damon in the throne room after he finished discussing with the elders. They brought discussion of challenges faced by the pack and offered up solutions. However, facially, he always looked bored and sometimes irritated because of the issues brought before him to solve. But, as Alpha of the pack, it was his duty to resolve all complaints of all his subjects.
"More concerns from the elders?" I asked in a sarcastic tone. He let out a deep sigh as he gazed at me.
"I'm so tired of all their whining and complaints." He replied in an exasperated tone. I gently placed my hands on his thick thighs while I sat close to him.
"I know you don't like this part of the Alpha's responsibilities. But I'm here to help share the burden with you as your Luna." I leaned close to him and said in a hoarse voice. Yet, his face remained unfazed as he stylishly removed my hands from his body.
"Thanks, Ember, but I can handle them all by myself." He replied in a sharp tone. He stood up and paced around the huge hall. I clenched my fists as I tried to control myself from any outbursts.
I scanned around the hall and noticed all his warriors, including Natasha, his trusted soldier, were positioned outside, so we had the room to ourselves. I stood up and moved towards him.
"My Alpha, if I may ask. What's bothering your thoughts?" I asked with a concerned look on my face. He stopped at a particular spot and gazed at me intently for a few seconds. This took me aback, but I found a way to snap back to reality quickly.
He finally replied to me. " Since Aurora was sold to Alpha Darius, I expected to hear news or even for them to return her to me on her knees begging to take her back. Yet, after all these weeks, there aren't reports of her. It seems she's adapting well in her new pack. Now, there is no one to entertain me or distract me from the long hours of…boredom."
He let out a deep sigh as if a wave of relief had just washed over him. Like a mountain has been lifted off his chest. He was oblivious to my heart shattering from his revelations. I forced a smile on myself as I held the tip of his fingers.
"I'm sure there are some things I can do to ease your anguish. My Alpha." I playfully rubbed his huge chest. Unfortunately, he just huffed and walked away.
"I know you're trying, Ember, but it's not the same." Those words echoed to the depths of my soul as I watched his retreating figure.
After he left, I ran to the bedroom and leaped onto the soft king-size mattress. Tears streamed down my cheeks as I recalled his statements in the throne room.
"So, after everything I did to chase that servant omega away from this pack, he still yearns for her. If I don't take care of her permanently, He will never forget her." I mumbled to myself quietly. Suddenly, an idea crept up in my mind on how to take care of my Aurora problem once and for all.
I wiped the tears from my cheeks and headed back to the throne room. There, I ordered one of my bodyguards who was stationed outside.
"Fetch me Natasha immediately," I commanded him. He bowed his head respectfully and rushed out to fulfil my order. Within minutes, both he and Natasha entered.
I sat down on my seat designated for the Luna and yelled out. " Leave us!" I signaled all my bodyguards to evacuate except Natasha. The rest had a puzzled look on their face but hurriedly stepped out of the room.
When the last guard closed the huge doors behind him. I signaled for her to come closer to me. She stood very close and said in a respectful tone. "How can I serve you, my Luna?"
Those words filled with heart with joy. Natasha had always been cordial with me in comparison to how she treated Aurora with disdain. I sensed we both had a thing in common against her.
"I know you also despise Aurora as much as I do. That's why I summoned you today." I said in a serious tone. Natasha slowly bowed to me, but I could see the sinister smile on her face as I mentioned her name. Her face turned crimson in disgust.
That gave me the courage to continue speaking freely. "I've tried to distance her from our Alpha, yet it may seem he still has a soft spot for her. I'm afraid he won't be able to move forward till she's permanently gone…" I gazed at her to see her reaction as I saw a broad smile on her face. Her facial expression seemed to agree with all that I said. It wasn't a hidden secret that Natasha always saw Aurora to be too weak to be in our pack. This gave her the perfect opportunity to take care once and for all.
"Leave it to me, my Luna, I will make sure it's done." Natasha's eyes widened with joy as she nodded in agreement and set off to her task.
